Hi Mrs.P
Just wanted to say well done on your PAD. I am going to try and do some in october but it might be tight as I will be paying holiday stuff.

Well - from the £200 cash I have spent £27 on my hair - £15 on some wool to do some knitting - £60 on food for the week - £20 on fun things today.
Believe it or not that's quite good for me. I could have saved the £15 for the wool - but I enjoy knitting especially now its getting dark in the evenings.
the balance of the money from student teacher will be £178 so that will go towards the dentist - my next visit is on 15th of this month so I will pay that as my next instalment which leaves another £200 which I will pay in November - then hooray that is all my dental work paid for.
things I need to pay for this week: diesel for the car which will be around £55; petrol for DH's bike around £18; Nothing else I can think of so will try and stick with that.
Checked online banking today. Won't make a PAD now until next week. However, normal payment has gone out to the Egg today - but I won't count that in my PAD total.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
today paid out £60 deposit for DS to go on a skiing trip in - wait for it - February 2012

Good news was because I have the family allowance paid into a different account I had the money all ready - so no panic at all.
All I need to do now is make sure I put my money away for all my expenditure into their accounts (and don't touch them), then there would be no panic when the bills are due
Its about time I did a PAD - so £1 pad to the Egg tonight.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Hey MrsP
Thats good news about the trip. It makes life so much easier if the money is there for these unexpected things. Im finding it hard to put away the money for everything with saving for the wedding at the same time. Im seriously going to have to re think my savings for everything and try cutting back a bit more.
I've not been able to get any whoopsie bargains lately but i did use a sauce for my curry the other night that was best before end sept 10 as it looked and smelled ok and as long as it says best before it should be ok... it may not taste exactly like it should but what difference does a few days make!
Think if it had said use by i would have probably binned it.
Good luck with ur updated SOA and your PAD (im not making any more until i know i have enought for minimum payments 1st cause i always end up leaving myself short
)

Not doing very well with the Pads this month but I'm anxious not to leave myself short. I have managed to put everything away into my smaller online accounts for the heating oil, Christmas fund, car and bike etc. etc.Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Well done for putting the money away into your savings accounts and for not leaving yourself short. There is nothing worse than making extra payments and then not having enough to pay everything.

I've not been doing too well and have gone overdrawn again.
I received a new CC today and can do money transfers to current account for 0% to November 2011. I have just requested a transfer of money which will pay off the Egg card and pay off the overdraft as well - for £4,000. Do you think I will ever learn my lesson?
I'm still suffering from having 2 holidays last year and the bike MOT and car tyres. However, I a still religiously saving money for those each month (which is why I have now gone into overdraft). I need to do a more realistic SOA. I have also been PADDing more than I can afford.
The only good news is that my fixed rate mortgage finishes on 1st January so fingers crossed that the rate stays low and hopefully I can realise some extra cash to try and pay some things off so I have more disposable income each month.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
I've started a spending diary - writing down every single penny I spend - it makes interesting reading
Petrol costs are very high as live in a remote area and need to drive to work. This diary reflects all spending by DH and self as all our money is in one pot.

Take-away fish and chips for DH, self and my dad £15.90
DH petrol £20.76
30th Oct
Engagement ring repair £30

Sainsburys £38.45
Buckets (for water change for fish tank) £8.85

31st Oct

DH snooker money £1
Toiletries £5.00
paint for outside £26.48

I'm going to have to watch Sainsbury's - I can't resist their reduced food section - always really good value, but the freezer is choc full and we are now trying to eat the freezer empty before we buy any more

Plus - its not really good value if I end up overdrawn.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Hey MrsP
Well done on keeping the spending diary.... your petrol costs are really high don't know how u manage that! As are your prescription charges.... sometimes its better to live in Scotland!
We get ours for £3.00 an item or you can get a pre payment certificate for £10 for 4 months which is worth it if you've got loads to get.
The reduced section of any shop always gets me excited cause i feel like im getting a bargain..... until i get it home and there is nowhere to put anything and then it usually ends up in the bin so am trying to keep away from reduced sections now!
