over £9K in 4 months:eek: good grief, any suggestion on how I could manage to do the same would be gratefully received?
I did get a payout so used some of that money to pay it off.
I've slightly fallen off the wagon since Christmas. Can't seem to get myself organised again. I've become addicted to Farmville a game on Facebook so I've been spending less time on MSE:D
However, I've now pulled my socks up so to speak and am well and truely back on the wagon and ready to roll.
I just have to keep remindng myself how much more disposable income I'll have each month once the debts are paid.
I've got lots of new recipes so am cooking different foods for a change. Our freezer is full of food/ingredients so I'm aiming to do my "big" shop second week in February rather than first (that's the plan anyway).
DH is finishing off some decorating - and as usual this cost more than we anticipated. However, once its done that will be it for the year.
This year we have booked two short 1 week holidays - self catering. I have planned a sensible SOA and will be saving each month for the holidays.
I've also had some unexpected car expenses, but thanks to getting myself organised a few months ago I had enough money in my "car" account to pay for them. However, this has now left the account almost empty so has to be built up again.
I will need to get heating oil next month, but again the good news is that I have the money ready in my "oil" account.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Hey Mrs P hows things? From your last post you seem really motivated and raring to go.... please can you tell me where i get some of that ??? I just can't be bothered
.
I've even been neglecting my farm but luckily my sister goes into it every now and again and does some of it for me

Hey Buddibabe - I'm not very motivated at the moment. I'm still suffering with my teeth - really bad pain last night and didn't sleep too well. Quite bad pain today. Have another appointment to see dentist tomorrow afternoon. Have a horrible feeling I've now got an infection.
All I did over the weekend was watch rubbishy TV and that's all I'm going to do tonight now - I'm fed up with having toothache and problems with my teeth and its really getting me donw. Can't really focus on MSE at the moment.
I am still getting on with my farm though! l love Farmville.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Hey Mrs P im sorry to hear about your teeth and the pains i hope that when you see the dentist they'll be able to do something to help ease the pain if not take it away all together.
I've managed to do some housework tonight and i have also bought some tickets for the wedding show thats on at the weekend and i can't wait am sooooo excited!
I've spent an absolute fortune on magazines and although most of the dresses in them are the same there are lots of little things that almost make them worthwhile buying......
well i keep telling myself that! DEBT OUTSTANDING 23.04.17 £16802.970 -
Well - today is a new day.:j
Got some antibiotics from the dentist and after just one day am feeling so much better. I think I'm probably going to survive.
Feeling really positive about my money too. I have looked at bank account and its not too bad:D Pay day tomorrow. I have worked out a new and improved SOA which takes into account all bills to be paid and also the 3 holidays we are planning to take this year: one week in June, one week in August and a week away over Christmas.
I have been really realistic with the SOA and have not swept anything under the carpet.
Some more good news for the first time in two years I've got a student teacher coming to stay in the spare room. He will be with us from February to June. The money I "earn" from him will be going towards paying off the unsecured debt and will also pay for our Christmas holiday (which is why we have decided to go away).:j We live in a remote part of the country which is why even though I'm on the books as a landlady it doesn't happen very often.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Hey
Am glad you managed to get stuff from the dentist to make you feel better.
Thats great news about the student teacher and the holidays :j we're not going away this year due to saving for the wedding so its going to be hard to keep sane!! although im sure it will be worth it in the end.
Also good news about the SOA and having the money for saving for each holiday.... its a good feeling knowing that you have the savings in place for these things without having to add to your debt
Hope you've had a good weekend

Well I haven't been filling in my diary as much as I was hoping to.
Dh is still decorating upstairs and the computer is balanced on the filing cabinet in our bedroom - which looks like a scene from Steptoe and Son.
One bedroom is almost finished - DH is drilling/sanding down as I type. Dad is staying with us and when he goes next weekend then the bed will be taken from there dismantled and sent to the tip (which is all it is fit for). I will then be able to move the computer in there as it will be the new "office". I will just have to buy a desk. Hoping to keep the cost right down.
Still struggling on with the money. Have not saved as much as I would have liked to do. Just really feel all at sixes and sevens at the moment - very busy at work and seems to be so busy at home.
Student came to stay for two nights and will be back after half-term so am delighted that has happened and we get the money for that.
Will be updating unsecured debt at the end of February.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Hi MrsP,
I know how you feel with the decorating, there always seems to be something, and you can never keep the house clean when decorating.
Good luck, I have got glossing to do this afternoon
Take care

Hi mrs P: how are things going?Proud to be dealing with my debt:eek:
TOTAL: £6,437 (04/01/2013) slowly but surely it is decreasing:D0 -
Well, Had a lovely weekend. Decorating almost finished now.
MF - glossing has got to be the worst - well maybe stripping wallpaper comes a close second.
Catspaw - things not going too badly. Just need to make sure I stick to my SOA and save some money. Need to try and save as much as possible to pay off some of the unsecured debt. I am determined not to slip back into the old ways. Have decided to set up a DD into a savings account at the end of February - that way it won't be hanging around in the current account asking to be spent
