Just catching up with your diary - you still sound very motivated and on top of things.
I agree with you about Tesco's chocolate - as mentioned earlier Lidl or Aldi chocolate is so much better. Even Asda's choc is nicer. (trust me I've tried them all at least twice!!).
Hope you had a good day.Debt £171000 - Current Debt £168883Between Oct 08 and Apr 09 Pay off £12k = £2117/£12000£2 Savings Pot = £80 -
I'm feeling good today as I had an NSD. Third of the month and am aiming for 15. Also feel good as I have managed my personal challenge of saving £50 towards £500 for my hols in October 2009. I aim to try and make this £100 by January 1st.:j
Regarding my loose change challenge - I almost had a seizure tonight as I was clearing the kitchen worktops after tea - I found a penny just lying there - I screamed, snatched it up and put it in my "coppers pot". :T DS and DH just shrugged their shoulders (they are used to me by now). I never ever thought the day would arrive when I would be delighted to find a penny - just shows you what MSEing will do for you.:rotfl:
Am going now to do 30 mins on my Wii Fit. If only I could be as disciplined with my weight as I am now being with my money. I love chocolate too much and now with all the advice on other types of chocolate, Lidl, Aldi, Asda etc., I don't stand much of a chance do I?:jDebt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Am slightly cross with myself as I let myself be talked into buying a latte for 70p today! Still it could have been worse. I was hoping for an NSD.
Very busy again at work today. As usual took my packed lunch in with me. Was really miserable first thing and the drive to work was not a pleasant one, lots of leaves etc., on the road. However, coming home tonight it was nice and sunny! You can never tell can you?
Had cottage pie from freezer tonight. Am going to do 30 mins on the Wii Fit a little later.
Tomorrow aiming for an NSD. I really must try and reach my goal of 15. Its the first time I have tried the NSD challenge and I really want to make a good start. Will have to buy diesel either Thursday or Friday - am trying to hold out till Friday. So should have at least 2 NSD's before Saturday.
Off to have a look around the forums.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
I haven't been on here for a couple of days as I have been searching the house for stuff to Ebay. Quite honestly, I thought I had ebayed everything in sight. However, needs must, and on a second trawling of the house I did find quite a few items. I have listed four things now. One of them has a bid on already! Fingers crossed that all of them sell.Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Good luck with the eBaying and the NSD challenge. I'm doing the Nsd one as well. It certainly makes you think about your spending more. I'm doing well so far this month but that's because I've been doing alot of dayshifts and I try hard not to spend anything at work.

Was hoping for an NSD today, but HAD to buy a bar of chocolate as I only had a £5 note and needed some change as DS lost a tooth last night and the tooth fairy needs to call! What a brilliant excuse to buy a choccy bar!! Its my best one yet.:j
However, must really knuckle down now if I hope to make my challenge.
Also its Friday.:T
No more spending today though. Just going straight home from work tonight and not going out - just collapsing in front of TV.
Dinner tonight is pies made in the pie maker, mash and perhaps some baked beans (one of my favourite foods).Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Went shopping this morning and just got bits and pieces for my halloween party.
DH and I did have a breakfast at Wetherspoons which means we didn't need to have a lunch:D
We are having seafood risotto and garlic bread tonight.
Just finished making a victoria sponge cake and have put jam and butter icing for the filling. We will probably have a slice later tonight:T The rest will be for tomorrow afternoon.
Have just checked my Ebay items and am delighted that I now have bids on two items. Any extra money earned this month is going towards oil. That is oil for heating and hot water. I know its not very exciting but the tank is very low and we need to fill up before the winter sets in.
Its been a glorious day today, so sunny and really warm. I even have the washing hanging outside to dry.:j
I have spent £1 on a lottery ticket which I haven't done for a while. I just picked my own random numbers. I would be grateful for even a £10 win:jDebt free and Keeping on Track0 -
You are doing better than me MrsP.
I went out yesterday £4.50 return train fare, £4.99 for a jacket spud and salad, £1.80 for a small latte:eek: But I did sell a ticket for £10 so I at least got my money back.
Went to local shop today for a paper and some stodge (I really must bake more) but tomorrow will be an NSD (fingers crossed).
You sound as though you are doing really well.:j0 -
Hi Mrs Porridge just came across your diary and wanted to wish you luck. you sound very organised and motivated. I too like to look after the pennies and have started meal planning it does make a difference. have you got a lidl near you they sometimes have cheap fruit & veg so worth a look. A fortune can be saved from making your own lunch each day. I always try to make my sandwich the night before. Good luck.2025 Decluttering 13021⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
