Thanks for your support Catspaw and Buddiebabe.
I still haven't managed an NSD yet, but I am into semi-serious saving mode. I need to really get cracking on my saving as my aim is to pay off the £12000 loan within 6 months:eek: That will give such a boost and then I can concentrate on the two smaller ones. Once that's done I'll be starting on the mortgage (will it ever end):rolleyes:Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -

My first NSD of the month.:j
I think I've done all my Christmas shopping too.
In a rash moment I have set myself a challenge of cross-stitching all my Christmas cards this year. It is something I have always wanted to do but always thought about it too late. I have completed 8 as of today. I might not send EVERYONE on my list one just my fave people. For instance we give out loads of cards to neighbours and whilst I am sure they would appreciate the cards I think I should put family and friends first.:D
This is what is keeping me busy in the evening.:jDebt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Just finished reading through. Well done, what an inspiration you are!
How did your pumpkin curry turn out?Loving the sunny days!0 -
Hi Finefoot - I haven't attempted the pumpkin curry and don't think I will - my soup didn't work out very well either! I think next year I will just buy one pumpkin for carving and not bother to eat any!Debt free and Keeping on Track0

An expensive day today. Paid just under £250 for paint, coving, brushes and bits and bobs - to do DS' bedroom and our new "hooby/computer room". DH is busy decorating now - how much more it would have cost if we had had to get someone in to do it:eek::eek::eek:
All Christmas presents bought and wrapped. Spoke to brother and agreed no presents for our children this year - he has three:D The only presents I buy now are for DH, DS and for my Dad. So its cut right down to the knuckle. To be honest it suits much better this way - why spend time looking for a present for someone and ending up buying and receiving something unsuitable.
I am looking foward to Christmas - I love getting the tree out and all the decorations and that for me is the exciting thing. Have also decided that we are going to go to the panto for Boxing Day.
This will be the first year that DH, DS and I have spent Christmas on our own in our own house. The last couple of years we spent Christmas away in hotels. Before that we stayed with MIL or she came to us. We have decided no family - just us:j:j That way we can slob about and eat dinner when we want to and watch what we want to on TV - or just play games or perhaps even go for a walk.:DDebt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Haven't posted for ages. We have been decorating and the computer was disconnected - its now reconnected on the dining room table!
Have got Christmas presents sorted. Have set realistic budget for rest of decorating items. Have got a sort of SOA/budget sorted for between now and Christmas. Am trying to save as much as possible. Managed to put away part of the pension lump sum into premium bonds - then had to spend out £500 on brakes etc., for the car - but have managed to do it without breaking into the premium bonds. So glad I cut the CCs up because if not I would have been tempted to use to pay for the brakes (just to tide me over).
Am just treading water now and waiting for the new year to begin. Am really determined that we can pay off a big chuck of the unsecured debt next year. Roll on 2010.......Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Hey MrsP was wondering where you had been!!! haven't been around much lately myself too busy working.
That's bad news about the breaks but good news that you didn't have the credit available to use cause you know what its like.... a slippery slope!!! I haven't been that good this month but have still managed to reduce the debt by just over £200 so i don't feel too bad at least its not went up
Can't wait for the new year to start so i can set some goals and make a fresh start.... technically i should be doing it this month but i have a feeling 2010 is going to be our year so bring it on!!!!
