Hi MrsP.
That happened to my central heating system last winter. I have a back bolier and the hot water worked but the heating didn't. I thought I was going to have to get a new central heating system, which would of cost thousands of pounds.
However, when I got a local company to give me a quote for a new system, he fixed it for nothing, by opening the pump and prodding it with a screwdriver. :rotfl:
Apparently the old pumps get blocked with gunk and crap.
Take care

Hey MrsP sorry to hear about the heating. You have just reminded me that i got a letter in saying my boiler was due a service..... must add that to list of things to do 2moro... phone and find out how much it will cost to get that done! Normally i wouldn't bother but last year the boiler didn't work properly and it took ages to get it fixed and cost me quite a bit only because it hadn't been serviced in years and since it was done my bills have reduced too!
Hope your DH manages to get it fixed.
Well done on your WW points and on the wii fit.... i intend to have a shot on that once boyfriend goes to work 2moro afternoon!!!

Unfortutately DH didn't manage to fix the boiler, he's going to check on the internet today for any ideas.
MF - thanks for the tip of the screwdriver and pump - I'll get DH to give it a go!
Buddiebabe - after the guy fixed our boiler last year our bills reduced too! (Still can't figure how that works).
Didn't manage the Wii Fit this morning so will have to be very discliplined to have a go tonight instead.

Buddiebabe - hope you're feeling a bit better. I missed my appointment with the Wii this morning I woke up with a bad head and decided it would be better to take two tablets and have another half hour in bed than bounce around the sitting room.:D
Tonight I'm having take-away chips:rolleyes: Might go on the Wii Fit later....
Two lovely letters arrived in the post tonight - one with the new Egg cards - how is that for service? The other a cheque for £500 from my lovely Dad. Most of it will be going on the heating oil which I had to use the Egg card for so I can pay that off straight away.:j Thank you Dad.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Hey MrsP im feeling a bit better the headache has gone but then again so has most of the day. Its nearly 7pm and i've not done anything i intended to get done.... well none of the wii fit or the cleaning or soup making  am so annoyed at myself i feel like i've wasted the day off.

I've just listed two items on Ebay. Both starting off at 99p. Its a start I suppose.
I've got lots of tidying up to do in the house and will do that over the next three weekends - hopefully I can find some more stuff to Ebay.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Thursday
No NSD as had to get milk.
No bids on my Ebay items at the moment. I've just put another one on.
We have dug out some paperwork for DH's pension (he has two private pensions which have not been paid into for a while). As he is now over 50 (by a few years) it looks like he can take a lump sum and start drawing some of the money. Not sure whether its a good idea to do it or not. Have written to the pension companies and asked us to send some figures so we can try and work it out. From what I can gather it will affect the state pension. Its like a minefield. I had a quick look at the pensions thread on the forum and they all seem very knowledgeable over there so when I get the figures I'll post on that and see what advice is given.
I've stuck to my WW points today - so far.:D
I've sorted out lunches ready for tomorrow.
Its so lovely here tonight - like summer. We had our dinner sitting out in the garden.
DH is going to strip the boiler down at the weekend so hopefully he will be able to fix it and we can have heating on - although we certainly don't need it at the moment.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Saturday
Went out for dinner last night as it was my wedding anniversary - had Indian so not very good for the waistline. DH was being very MSE saying we should have the set meal for 2 - which would have been cheaper than choosing off the menu. I decided that I wanted to choose off the menu so it cost £20 more:eek: I'm sorry now, but it was a lovely meal:D
Weighed this mroning and my some miracle have managed to lose 2lbs. Am seriously going to have a good crack at the diet this week.
So far today I;ve shaped some rolls. Did an experiment in the bm yesterday and made tomato dough - just put some chopped toms in and water rather than just water. It looks oK:D It has been cold rising in the fridge overnight and now its rising outside. I'll pop them in the oven shortly. They look a lovely salmon pink colour - hope they are tasty.
I've got a load of washing in the machine. The patio door is wide open, the sun is shining and I'm about to start my third assignment - I've got one more to do after this and then I'll have finished:j
DH has gone off to collect his motorbike from the service and then the shock of the bill:eek: He won't be back till at least lunchtime. DS had a friend for a sleepover so they are entertaining each other so its a good chance for me to crack on with the assignment and not get waylaid by MSE.
Later this evening off to the theatre - tickets book yonks ago - can't wait as its an Agatha Christie - my favourite person/author of all time.
Tomorrow we are going sailing with a friend (weather permitting), so it will be lots of action which will be a good start for the diet:j:jDebt free and Keeping on Track0 -
DH just phoned. Bike service cost just over £300. But its not going to phase me - I've just opened another online savings account and every month I'm now going to save £30 in it so there will be no nasty surprise this time next year.:D
Its taken me a long time but now I'm starting to get organised and start planning for future bills.:j
I'm gonna get there:j:j:jDebt free and Keeping on Track0
