    Friday

Well its been a mixed week MSE-wise! Managed a couple of NSDs so not too good. Payday next Tuesday but I have gone overdrawn which I knew was going to happen but that will be paid off next month. This month I have paid out for the house insurance; RAC membership and some heating oil and it was also DH's birthday and to cap it all - a 5 week month.

Just been checking my Ebay items - some have sold, some haven't, some are still active. Made the grand total of £39.50 which I am absolutely delighted with - especially as I was going to take it all t the charity shop. Have spent some time packaging items up and will take them to the post office tomorrow. Have re-listed the items which did not sell.

List of jobs for the weekend:

    post Ebay packages
Relist any other items which don't sell
package up any items ending tomorrow and Sunday
finalise monthly shopping list and menu plans (big shop next Friday)
    plant some veggies
look for fresh items to Ebay - try and find at least 5.

plus all the other normal householdy chores which I don't have time for during the week

Something to look forward to going out tomorrow night for DH's birthday meal.

    Saturday

Above jobs crossed out are done. Got CC statement today so updated. Down to 3 CCs now due to combining two on a lifetime balance. Got that statement and was pleased to see that I am now paying "only" £16 per month in interest - before it was over £45 on less balance:eek:

Will pay my normal CC payments next week which will bring the total to under £9K :T:T Its a small victory but to say I owe £8K plus sounds so much better than £9K plus:D

    Sunday

Had a lovely lie in this morning.:j

    Jobs done so far:

batch of rolls cooked and cooling on wire rack ready for week's packed lunches
    hoovering throughout house
two loads of washing done - nightmare trying to dry them
more veggies planted - lettuces and raddishes
prepared some sprouts for the sprouter
hard boiled eggs and made into mayonaise for lunch tomorrow
    dusting throughout house
    changed DS' bedlinen
made apple crumble for tonight's dinner
re-listed items which didn't sell on Ebay
packed up more items ready for Post Office tomorrow
    cut out table runner
cut out bread roll holder, fused interfacing, pinned
finally finished sewing blind for en suite bathroom - its up and looks fab though I say it myself.

    Still to do:

finalise meal plans for next month
finalise shopping list for monthly shop
tack bread roll holder and machine
sort out clothes for this week

Have decided to be far more Old Style in my approach from now on. I'm cooking from scratch, but am now trying to do puddings as well. Have got my sewing machine out and have loads of material I bought years ago which I am starting to use up. Have made a blind for the en suite window and its up and looks great - cost me £8. Am in the process of making a table runner and a bread roll holder. Won't be able to finish today as I need to get some more bias binding for the holder and some backing and padding for the runner. These I will get next weekend.

All i need now is to be Old Style with my money i.e. not buying anything unless I have the cash. Not using credit any more. If I had been Old Style in my approach from the word go then I wouldn't be in the mess I am now!

What a productive day im very impressed and very jealous!

I've not done much today after last nights ebay marathon i've been feeling quite depressed today and down. The house is a mess and its taken me all my time to get out my bed but i have managed a few things.

Most of the morning was spent on the internet reading posts on this site and basically just chilling!

I'd love to be more old style but at the moment i've not got much time for anything apart from work.

    Tuesday

Paid off £226.72 off the CCs today - which brings my total down to £8K plus and sounds a lot better.

Hope to pay more off as the month goes on.

Went overdrawn by £287 this month:eek::eek: I've "paid" £150 off that today. The balance of £137 will be paid off later in the month. Because of the OD I won't be able to pay as much as I would like off the CC debt. However, I do not like to be overdrawn and try and avoid it at all costs (even to the extent of not overpaying on the CCs). I know this probably isn't very MSE savvy (I don't get charges on OD), but I don't like it so its got to go.:D

This month I am going to keep all receipts for food/household goods so I can see exactly how much I am spending. My rough estimate is around £200 per month and then about £20 per week. This needs to reduce significantly. I've done my food plans for next month and the shopping list. Tonight I will get some of the dry goods - tins, toilet rolls, cleaner etc as I am going out past Tescos anyway:D

MrsP - hope you get this before you go to Tesco - they are (or at least they were last week) selling their luxury loo roll in packs of 16 for the price of 12:j

You're doing well especially with all the sewing.

Well I am going to get something to eat - oven chips methinks as I had dinner at lunchtime. Its thundering here and really isnt pleasant:eek:

    Thursday

Very hard day at work today.

Evening will be spent packaging more items up for Ebay. I've now made the grand total of £53. Still its better than nothing and has actually paid for my clock so am pleased with that.

Looking forward to the long weekend.

I have bought myself a little notebook and am writing down every single penny I spend - its quite an eye-opener. I will review at the end of the month.

    Sunday

Am still writing all spends in the spending diary. However, have spent quite a lot already on clothes, handbag and a GPS for Dh's birthday present.

On the plus side I have made £102 on Ebay and have enough items to list and hopefully make around another £100. Will also have £140 in the Abbey current account by the end of the month so will use that to try and get the OD down to around £150 (that is the aim anyway). Also have the spare £105 in the "bills" account so can use that if necessary.
