  • It's different this time because.....

.... we have the Money Saving Experts forums so we all (well, most of us) are far more financially savvy, and know what's going on.... !!!

    :j :j :j

.... although that might be a mixed blessing, because we can now all hear the Voices of Doom.....

It's different this time because many of us are soft and have never experienced true hardship (though they think they have), unlike previous generations. Also because many have accepted that living off debt to aspire to be like tacky, vacuous 'celebrities' was the norm. And because it's much worse than anything that has happened in the economy over the last few decades.
  • It's different this time because I'm now settled, have had my 2.4 kids and don't especially need to move house.........therefore negative equity is irrelevant.......
    (well ok nearly )
  • It's different for me this time because; While I remember my Dad being made redundant and nearly losing our house, and my parents struggling to make ends meet.I am now that parent who does not want to make her kids have packed lunches and not go on school trips (I do not want them to feel the worry that I remember feelng). I know that there may be dark days ahead, but I have a job in a 'safe industry' and I know how to make 'ends meet'. Lucky for me I am in a much better position than my parents were or I hope I am.
  • It's different this time because investors who have bought a lehman will not get their money back :rotfl:
It's always the grass that suffers, irrespective of whether the elephants are fighting or making love !!!
  • ... we no longer believe their lies.
