Potato & lentil curry for us tonight, v cheap and v tasty, even if I am using Patak curry paste! Found that the cheapest/easiest way to make nice curry. Always tempted to make Curry Queens curry but takes a bit of forward planning which I haven't managed to get round to yet, so Pataks paste it is!
Now you just know its an MSE rule;) that recipes have to be given at this point:D
Errr.....can we have the recipe purlease......:D
....and what I'm having tonight: one of my versions of spaghetti bolognaise - ie the one pretty similar to t'original - but using quorn mince instead AND of course a large bowl of green salad from my garden....0 -

hello joisey and welcome! Justpopping in to say hello...for tea I will be having...cereal! Had team meal (4.00) for lunch so stuffed...off to ww later in the week...unlike weezl (who does have a will of iron...wish she could pass it on but she just says no...I'm ok until tempted and then loose it!)...aww give my bestest boy a special kiss...was he a brave boy?! I got his birthday pressie yesterday...will take me that log to make it! Re corned beef hash...sorry but yeugh...used to have it at boarding school and even the smell makes me heave...suffice to say it was so gross that we smothered it in jam (the only thing available) just to make it edible...and I'm not exaggerating!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Whilst I was shopping the other day, I noticed the difference in the price between red lentils and the other colours of lentils... 5p per 100g in some cases... ...
I wondered if anyone has tried to make lentil pate, with lentils other than the red ones, and if so, how was it ??
Many thanks in advance
potty
I'll come out from lurking! I have made this quite a lot with well (proberly slightly over) cooked brownish-green lentils. Not sure if its the same recepie I use lentils, oil, herbs, garlic, salt and pepper - no meaurements just blend lentils and add oil and other stuff till right consistency and flavour.0 -
Made something very frugal for tea but not quite sure what to call it - based on chicken stock with the bits of meat from the bones, threw in some potatoes from the allotment and some leeks from the allotment that had been frozen, added a carrot and some lentils, some seasoning and a tablespoon of frozen wine, simmered until everything was tender then added half a pack of pasta for the last 10 minutes. It wasn't stew and it wasn't soup. Tasty, though. Had hm scones for afters with Greek yog instead of cream0
