CCJ's and Mortgages

Hi

Just a quick question, if someone living in my home has defaulted on some payments and is issued with a CCJ which then goes unsatisfied will this have an affect on anyone else in the house when applying for credit? Such as myself if I apply for a mortgage?

no as they are now on the name of the person who has defaulted and do not affect anyone else at the address unless financialy linked i.e joint accounts ect

Definately worth ordering a copy of your credit report from Experian for £2. You could have been associated with the person who had the CCJ *accidentally*.

As long as you were never in association with the person on that bit of credit it will not show up on any report. It would have been registered against them, so their name and date of birth would be against it. also you would have known about it as a little piece of paper scaring the crap out of you would have landed on your doorstep (assuming you do not move from house to house!!).
