Well, I have some news, I have found someone cheaper to design my website and they are giving me free hosting for 12 months too:j

Today, I actually sat down and managed to sort out my price list and a few words which I shall email to the designers today or maybe tomorrow. Their lead time is a lot better than my friend plus they are more than half the price (I have seen examples of their work and I am very impressed).

Just a quick update because I am supposed to be sorting out all the paperwork that I picked up at the trade show last week and at the open day at the weekend.

After some fine tuning the price list is now finished - it has room for price increases too. The price list and the words are now with the web designer in the hope that she can weave her magic. The company are keeping the price as low as possible for me but still it is an expense and now my trusty credit card has had to take a bashing:rolleyes: One good thing is that at least I will be able to claim business expenses back from my business when I start earning.

I will list my website free on supplier websites and will have a reciprocal arrangement too - thus saving me some money on advertising.

I went to the Royal Agricultural College on Sunday - it was a lovely drive, just along the M42, M40 and A429. I was offered a glass of champagne but I declined because I was driving so instead I was given a glass of elderflower fizz which was more refreshing and more importantly non-alcoholic. I was made to feel very welcome and I came away with some good contacts and I would certainly be recommending the College to clients because they have a chapel on site which is licensed for weddings and their grounds are fantastic.

I need to finish off some of my assigments - they have been written in note form so need to be written out properly. There is a note on the facebook site that we have for our course where a tutor has pointed out to us that the budget has increased from £3K to £15K which is more in keeping with today's prices but I shall be awkward and stick to the original budget because it will demonstrate my ingenuity on how to stick to such a small budget. The scenario is that the bride wants caviar and champage and 200 guests in a ballroom but daddy only has £3K to pay for it all, I have to remind her of the budget and come up with some moneysaving ways for her to have the wedding of her dreams with less money and less people.

I emailed my price list to my mentor at the chamber of commerce today and already he has said that he wants to make changes, I am not making any changes because my prices are competitive and are mid-range with room for increases. My target date for test trading is 22 October, as the date keeps creeping ever closer I am starting to feel more nervous and scared. Don't get me wrong its something that I want to do because I just love organising events, I am just having a confidence crisis which is silly really.

Best try and tear myself away from MSE and go and do some work.

Thanks Dragon, I think I will have a cuppa.

Part of me is thinking "stop the world, I want to get off" because things are starting to move now.

When my website is up and running I will PM you with the address because I don't want to be seen to be promoting it on here because He Who Must Be Obeyed (Martin) will rap my knuckles.

Tea calls as does work so I am off - will sit and have tea and a rest first then more work:D

It has been one of those days, I switched the alarm off at 7am and rolled over and went back to sleep, I then woke up and looked at my watch and saw that it was 11.45:eek: I leapt out of bed like a loon and then realised on looking at my mobile that it was only 8.32:rolleyes:

Missed a call and person didnt leave a message but I discovered that it was someone from freecycle offering me some twinlock crystal files. So arrangements are being made to collect them:D

Nipped to the village this morning, went to the jewellers and had a new battery fitted to my watch (£3.95), then I mooched in the charity shop and came out with two soup mugs for 40p:j then it was into the butchers for half a pound of lean steak mince and 1lb of brisket - cost altogether £4.65, then it was off to the greengrocer where I got some spuds, 4 carrots and some kale (never eaten it before - bought because the cabbages were too big for me) - spent 69p. They told me that kale was like eating cabbage only nicer - I told them that I thought that kale was cow food (its what the local farmers used to feed their cows in winter).

Treated myself to a cream cake as well:eek:

Came home, opened emails and found another one from 1&1 internet, I am sick of that company because they told me that my account was terminated and yet they have renewed another domain without my permission and have told me that I still owe regardless. I replied and once again copied in nominet who have rules on companies registering domains without permission. I also spoke to Consumer Direct who have told me that the email that 1&1 sent to me telling me that my account is terminated is a legal document and that should they go to court, this piece of evidence would shoot them down in flames - I could do without the stress but at least I feel a little better now. I won't be contacting the idiots again:mad:*

I'd like to thank the brides on the wedding board for inadvertently helping me with one of my assignments, the budget for the wedding is £3K (although I have since heard from another tutor that this is unrealistic and the budget has been raised to £15K). I shall continue with the assignment as though the budget is £3K because I have picked up tons of moneysaving tips thanks to MSE brides:D

*now the swines have contacted me again telling me that I have another account that they haven't cancelled, they have given me a whole load of instructions on how to cancel it but I do not have the log in details or anything else for that account. Why can't they just cancel it, dealing with them is making me sick:mad:
  • Hi Horace - sorry to hear about your problems with 1&1. Its so frustrating nowadays there is no customer service is there? I've been in your position many times with similar things where I cancel something and then bin all the passwords etc.

  • Didn't mean to hit "post quick reply" as I hadn't finished...:D

Did you enjoy your cream cake? I hope it was fresh cream and not mock cream:j

    Hi MrsP

Yes I did enjoy my cream cake, it was fresh cream and not mock cream (although I have been known to eat mock cream ones occasionally).:D

1&1 have now come back to me and have confirmed that I don't owe them a bean and my account has been terminated at long bloomin' last:j

Am just supping my lunch at the mo - some french onion soup, I found a box of Ainsley Harriott cupasoup in my larder which has a use by date of July 08:eek: Still, it was powdered stuff with croutons in and it tastes just fine with boiling water.

Methinks I am coming down with a lurgy, I feel kind of strange and spaced out - almost feel cold from the inside out:rolleyes:
