Well I have just had assignment 16 marked - all about marketing and for the small amount that I wrote (she could have had War & Peace but I am not about divulge all my plans) I got a B:j Now I have these left to do:
7, 8 , 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18 - ooh not that many really:j .
I have a meeting tomorrow about my website - I shall be bartering due to having zero funds. Domain name has been bought already - thanks to 123 Reg. Not much to do really, just a case of my putting words on paper and giving them to someone to put into a website. I am thinking minimalist but classy (call that cheap n cheerful LOL)
I have a show at the NEC to go to on 16 September - I will most definitely be taking come comfy shoes, a large bag, bottle of water and some sandwiches because they should be shot for the prices they charge:eek: I shall be taking the train too because it is cheaper than paying their parking fee of £8 (I can get a return for a fiver from my local station with a change at new street).
I can see that I am going to have a busy few months with shows and hopefully business will come out of it. I just need some more cake samples...mmmm, as for chocolate fountains you can keep them they're sickly:rolleyes:
I did a bit of research last night into my tutor. I noticed that she done some courses that she had had funded from the European Social Fund - so I have sent her an email asking how she tapped into that fund because I'd like some. Doubt, she'll reply, she has another assignment of mine to mark.
The research done today has also helped me with regard to assignment 7 so I hope to get that finished sometime tomorrow and sent off.
Jobs for Monday:

Well I have returned from my very productive business meeting and now I am waiting for a quotation. My website won't be cheap but it will be a fantastic shop window for the business as well has having a few extra bits that my competitors won't have, just to make me a little different.
Customer service was second to none, I was met in Reception, personally escorted upstairs, was offered tea and more importantly choccie biccies - I accepted the tea but declined the biccies but now i wish I had at least eaten a couple of them because now I am starving. I had my bit of exercise for the day too - I walked there and back and all in high heels.
I will have a bespoke site for my bespoke business. Now then, best crack on and see if I can't blag any funding for it...maybe I could ask Mr Gates as he has millions to spare:rotfl:0 -

Couldn't you have 'secreted' a couple into your pocket, horace?
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Look I couldn't very well steal the biccies - I used to work with the chap and consider him a mate.
The heels weren't so high - only about an inch but that's still high for me because I have been living in crocs all summer:eek: Anyway, the shoes are rather nice and only cost me 7 euros from a shop that was closing down in Spain - they're lovely black winklepicker mules:eek:
Now then, I have just some maths and know that I will need a huge stack of money to get the website that I want - not using silly micky mouse templates but a bespoke one. I think it is time to go cap in hand to various charities and try and look poor (well poorer than I do now):rotfl:
My head has been all over the place this afternoon, I left the immersion heater on all afternoon:eek:  then I washed up and got something out of the freezer for dinner and put it in the remoska which I switched on and for some reason immediately switched it off again so when I went to get my dinner it was still frozen:mad: I blame it on lack of sleep.
I hope the girls upstairs are quiet tonight - they woke me up at 2.10am shouting because one of them had bought a man home with her and her girlfriend was forced to sleep in the spare room. They had an enormous row with lots of slamming doors. Then the bedroom gymnastics started - all I could hear was eeee eeee eeee ee eee of the bed springs squeaking, I think I will buy them a bottle of WD40:rotfl: Mind you, if they row again then I shall have to get up and dressed and go upstairs to bang on their door and tell them to shut up and have some consideration for other tenants.0 -

Oooh not good! Yep I would be inclined to thump on the ceiling followed by hammering on the door! Oh and take the WD40 up with you and say the squeaking is getting too loud :rotfl:Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

I will take a broom into the bedroom with me tonight. If the squeaking is too loud, I will have a quiet word with the landlord and say he has rats upstairs because I can hear them squeaking:rotfl:
My bed doesn't squeak, it's a huge iron thing so it doesn't move either. Not that anything untoward happens in my bed other than sleep:rolleyes: I never wake the neighbours either.
Grief they make more noise than the new neighbours immediately below me and they have a dog.0 -
Woo hoo - I received an A- for assignment 6. Needless to say my tutor felt the need to point out stuff - I know I need to learn but her comments are often crass and unnecessary.
I even picked up on the trick question too and added a few extras into the mix.
I spent the night doing some research on my competitors and their websites. I now have a clearer idea of what I want and what I shall offer that is different to them.
Still fretting on how to raise the funds for a bloomin' good website - maybe I should dare to venture into the Dragon's Den?0 -
Well after reading ahead, I have found out that I don't need to submit assignments 8 or 13 and I don't submit anything for 18 either:j So I have 7, 9, 10, 11,12 and 17 left to do:j
I cried today because I discovered that I had chipped the crystal vase that was given to me by the LPC students in 1998 (they were a fab bunch), I clonked it against the tap the other day when I refilled it with water:mad:
Spent an age on the phone today, this bloke rang me from the Wedding Directory (I got his directory mixed up with another one because the covers are similar in style and colour:rolleyes: ). The chap offered me some advertising in his directory which goes out to 18000 people (they seem to be free copies). Well, he was a bit pushy and offered me 2 quarter page ads for the price of one at £303.15 (inc vat) and a free link on his website which would normally cost me £40. I didnt like the fact that he was pushing me to advertise in one directory whose deadline is this Friday, I told him that I would sleep on it.
I cannot afford to spend that amount on a couple of adverts as I would rather put that money towards a website (I have to hit my plastic because I cannot find funding anywhere:rolleyes: ). I shall tell him tomorrow that I shall have to decline on this occasion but will most likely advertise in the January edition which covers the Birmingham South area.
To be honest he came across as a bit of a wally, because the battery died on his phone, twice which meant that he had to call me in the end on my landline which is my personal phoneline and not the business one.
No steak for dinner for me either - I thought I had taken out some rib eye steak from the freezer but when I went to cook it tonight found that it wasnt rib eye but stewing steak - hard to do a stew with just a tin of tomatoes, an onion, pearl barley, a few herbs and seasoning, although I did sling in some mixed veg and ate it with a crust of bread.
Need to ring the Chamber tomorrow because I dont see the point of going when they are now refusing to refund my bus fare - I'd rather use that money to buy some bread. I really am that skint:o0
