Wondered if anyone had any opinions on this? Good idea? Still toying with itLB Moment Sep 2007 Debt at highest £19,000 :eek:Debt at April 2011 £10,0000

We have lived with MIL before now to help us pay debts and while between houses. I wouldn't recommend it although financially it helped.Thank you. Have signed for petrol prices and have re-done my snowball. Makes much more sense now. Will be overpaying a particular card a lot come September.
Anyway, I have a new opportunity which has arisen:
A friend of my o/h has pretty much become homeless since splitting with his girlfriend. He has lost his job and has nowhere to go. They have put him on the council list for now and he can claim £70 a week housing benefit.
Anyway, he has asked my o/h if he can come and stay here for a while until he gets himself sorted. The problem is, our house is TINY with a capital T and really not big enough for everyone. One option is that he lives here for a while and I move out and stay with my parents. My o/h actually suggested this because it would save me about £650 a month! That means I can overpay my debt to the tune of £850 a month! :j
The downsides are quite obvious, I suppose - I will miss my o/h and not having my own place. My parents are OK but have their own problems which can sometimes lead to me being in the middle of it all. My elderly grandmother also lives there which would mean me doing my share of caring for her (which I don't mind at all).
I really don't know whether this is a good option or not? I wondered what others' opinions would be?
I struggle to see why you would need to move out... also is OH not prepared to help at all?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

To be fair, he doesn't have the money to help and these are my debts. He has just started his own business and is doing OK but it really just covers his half of things.
Not heard anything from friend yet as to whether he's found anywhere. I don't mind doing it for a while, I couldn't live here with him here, it would be far too cramped.LB Moment Sep 2007 Debt at highest £19,000 :eek:Debt at April 2011 £10,0000
