'beauty' water for acne/skin?

hi.
saw an advert iin a magazine about a new water called 'beauty'.
apparently its in tesco and morrisons and it is supposed to be good for acne?

has anyone drank this /tried this. is it working.

Just drinking 8 glasses of normal tap water will do wonders for your skin - don't let gimmicks empty out your pocket!

I can't find a list of ingredients for this water (I like to see exactly what's in the product) but it seems to contain this Praventin ingredient. I've done a web search but can't find much info on Praventin, except from companies who sell it, who unsurprisingly, sing its praises!

I'm normally a bit sceptical about things like this, sorry! I don't want to dismiss it out of hand, but it sounds like someone's making money out of acne sufferers

Ok so on a search Praventin is a TM. What they are saying is in the bottles is "is a globular multifunctional protein with antimicrobial activity (bacteriocide, fungicide) and is part of the innate defense, mainly at mucoses. Lactoferrin is found in milk and many mucosal secretions such as tears and saliva."

yes i agree with you all.
i can see that the research probably led from not being breastfed as a baby - breast milk contains more lactoferrin than cows, and that now there is a generation of acne sufferers. - and yes it does look like a money making scam!
it would be interesting to see if it did work though - however i'm not prepared to 'experiment' anymore as now my skin is under control for the first time in 20yrs! and the 'fix' does look temporary.

As an an acne sufferer and child of a hippie earth-mother type, I can verify that this theory is a load of balls :rolleyes:

glad to hear that - i was bottle fed since i was very premature and had never heard of a link with acne before.

It is the wonders of marketing plus the knowledge women doi more shopping but at the same time have lerss science tuition.
I liked the Danone water with high levels of calcium for growing kids bones(allegedly)
Er isnt hard water just water with high levels of calcium and isnt it found in ones tap over most of the country? DOH nice one Dannone
