Philips Sonicare - where's the best bargain ?

DD is due to get fitted with a full set of braces in 3 weeks so thought I'd get her a Philips Sonicare to make sure her teeth are kept as clean as poss - but they are hugely expensive.
Are there any bargains out there?
(any other advice as to how to keep them clean would be appreciated - she currently uses an Oral B electric toothbrush).
Thank you.

I use a Oral B Pulsating toothbrush.
When the electric toothbrush first came out, I paid £140 and have replaced about 3 times since as they wore out.
Although each one was supposed tto be the new improved model, the only thing that changed was the price as they became cheaper.
I think the new descriptions are to persuade us to change.
The only thing I need to know is which heads fit my 3 years old brush as I would like to buy a supply from Ebay as they are so expensive!!!0 -
I think I seen them on offer in Sainsburys recently.
I have a sonnix (sp?) I think they are cheaper, got mine in Robert Dyas.0 -
How about this: http://www.sonicaredirect.co.uk/acatalog/Elite_e5000_Series_HX5551.html#a8 I bought one of these from Amazon ages ago and its fab! Each brush lasts around 6 months (which I buy from Ebay as they are cheaper!). This seems a pretty good price as it was around £35 from Amazon and that was in their sale about 2 years ago.0

Obviously it's personal preference, but would it really be worth spending that amount of money? A normal toothbrush and orthodontic interspace brush would do just as good a job. Sorry, I just don't rate these battery powered toothbrushes, they do more harm than good and can damage the gums if overused, they can also cause sensitivity.2017 - no clutter to be seen challenge: 72/2017
