That's a shame. I really enjoy what I do - and would do something else if I didn't enjoy it.

  • Some might say I'm a pessimist, maybe I am, but I suspect that I'm just overly analytical or just like a scout I want to "be prepared". I'm the sort of person who will think, how long could I survive if I lost my job, if it's a couple of months with out signing on dole then fine, if not then I'd make sure I save more. I wouldn't worry about it, I'd just set my self a goal and go for it. But, some people consider the fact that I even thought about to possibility of maybe losing my job as a sign of being a pessimist...

As people have said attitudes come from how you were raised and I remember two things very clearly "you can do anything if you put your mind to it" and "you make your bed you lie in it". The first one is true, I'm sure some of my teachers who would be very surprised to see I've done as well as I have - at times I was a total gormster at school. The second one, really served me well and helped me dig myself out of some holes because I realised there was no one to blame for what the state I was in apart from me, which is why I can be unsympathetic to those who are too quick to blame others for their problems.

However with house prices it depends on where you're standing (and conditioning). If you think affordable housing is a good thing then the next few years are going to be pretty good, so you'd be optimistic. However, if you think unafforable housing is a good thing the you'll be pessimistic. The media conditions us to think cheaper housing is bad, yet ironically conditions us to think falling fuel, food etc prices are good.

No, I'm not, but I'd be extremely proud of it if I was. Childminders do an extremely worthwhile and valuable job.

Couldn't agree more. The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.....
