Asda MOC's

Some of the moc's in the tesco magazine go through without you actually having to buy the product. Is this the same for Asda?

I reckon you will be told no I am afraid, sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

In Asda the coupons from their own magazine will scan AFAIK, even if you don't buy the item - but most SAs should be familiar with the policy of not accepting Asda coupons without purchase of the product.

I used to go to Asda when they would accept any MOCs in a local store - but even then they used to spot the odd Asda magazine one in the pile & reject it! Nowadays my local Asda allow 10% off in MOCs and they must be NSS.

Asda lost my business to Tesco long since, as 10% off isn't much for a seasoned couponer, lol! BTW I don't put any 'norty' coupons in at all these days, what goes around comes around I think and my local Tesco are quite happy with my NSS coupons up to any amount if all different. Fab moneysaving.

Asda magazine MOCs will scan in Asda without buying the stuff, but as pointed out by other posters, it varies an awful lot whether they will be accepted by SAs or not.

In my experience (and I don't shop at Asda much ;)) they are more likely to take their own MOCs than NSS ones without purchasing the product, but that's probably just down to the individual SAs.

I went to my local Tesco today with a handful of Asda's MOCs and managed to scan in a couple of them at a self-service till (without actually buying the products as specified in the Coupons) and they went through fine. :j

It was only the SA who was keeping an eye over the self-service tills that came over and started interfering. She told me that I couldn't use the ASDA coupons in TESCO etc etc I told her to go away and speak to the manager about it and I told her that if there was a problem with doing that then they wouldn't have scanned-in, in the first place! So I did manage to save three quid but not too sure whether I will manage to get away with pulling off the same trick again.

What does everyone think???? Was that sneaky? I've read so many threads where people have said that Tesco accept even ASDA's coupons but there seems to be mixed opinion on this so I am still not too sure whether it's okay or not.

If anyone could clarify that would be great...

Tesco at Blackpool used to accept anyones coupons - not sure if still do tho'

Asda seems to be down to local managers discretion - not really tested our local one yet but will heehee - me, sis and mum are known as the bolshy customers ;)
Happy with any wins this year :A

First of all, sorry...sorry that I thanked you in error. I was so shocked at what you did.

I'll clarify and really hope you take note:

DON'T USE ASDA COUPONS IN TESCO!!

Sorry to shout (but there are not 'so many threads where people have said that Tesco accept even ASDA's coupons' - not on MSE anyway). Only once or twice have I ever read on MSE someone say this - but replies have always pointed out that Tesco only accept other Supermarkets' spend & save vouchers (£x off when you spend £xx - with no product or range stated). The banners outside some stores state 'spend & save vouchers'. That's all.

    It isn't rocket science.

Thanks for this. I agree with you - it isn't Rocket Science! I did however find it confusing as nowhere has it been clarified that Tesco accept other supermarkets spend & save vouchers only, and not MOCs!
