Sainsbury's Missing Items?
Comments

I work at Asda and haven't noticed any of our Smart Price items disappearing (at least not as yet). I have noticed some price changes though, some stuff goes down but the occasional bit does go up. I noticed a Smart Price item the other day which was slightly more expensive than a normal Asda's own brand item?:smileyhea Proud Mummy of 2 :smileyheaTotally addicted to Boots glitches & the Next sales!0

I have noticed a couple of the things I buy regularly have also disappeared recently from Sainsbury's. Their Basics Picked Onions and their tins of Premium Stewing Steak.0

Yes, I have experienced this a few times. The disappearance of Sainsbury's own brand baby oil, shampoo etc. I contacted customer services and then Head Office but all their explanations differed. First of all, they were taken off the shelves so that the brand name/logo could be changed. Then it was trouble with suppliers. I wonder if it's because they have some agreement with Johnson's and therefore try to sell as much of that brand name etc. Don't know. It's a real nuisance. My daughter used the products because they were not tested on animals and Johnson's is0

the Sainsburys vanilla prunes (a delia ingredient several years ago) and vanilla apricots in the gold metallic bags have also disappeared, was told it was a problem with the quality of the fruit but reading the above I doubt it.0

Ive found out that the basics washing up liquid has been discontinued due to slow sales0

In my local Sainsbury's they have stopped stocking their own make Bran Flakes 1kg boxes. They used to stock 750g and 1Kg boxes.
The 750g is almost the same price as the 1kg boxes. I suspect to hide the big jump in price for the 1kg they have introduced the smaller 500g to try and fool people that they still only stock two sizes but the bigger box contents have been reduced from 1kg to 750g.0 -
hiya , i work for sainsburys in the admin dept dealing with price control and advertising .

I am not shooting the messenger janiebaby, but most of the "missing" items are not from the Basics range. It's well over a month (that I know of) since their own brand baby products disappeared. If this is a ploy to get everyone to buy Johnson's then it's worked - but not buying them from Sainsbury's!!!Going to Home Bargains where Johnson's baby stuff is much cheaper. The shampoo alone is almost half the price of Sainsbury's."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

if you go to the infomation desk , ask for a comment form , you write down what you want back and any other comments , its forwarded to sainsburys head office in holburn . and it goes from there ,
no use moaning to the staff in the store cos we really cant do a lot , but the customers comments can , thats what the forms are for . and yes they do act on them in holburnThe original janiebaby0 -
I would be aware of the fact that they may want to sell their more expensive lines, the basics stuff normally has next to no margin and is offered in local stores. Online, they can sell you what they want.0
