Sainsbury's Missing Items?

Hello all!
Just wondered if anyone had experienced Sainsburys removing items from the shelves for no reason?
All my local branches seem to have removed their BASICS range of handwash. In addition I normally buy the 69p foam bath - all versions of that have been missing for two weeks and there is only the 20p BASICS version or other company brands which work out more expensive.
This seems to have happened in many Kent stores and a few London ones.
Anyone else?

have you contacted sainsburys regarding thisthey might be able to tell you moreNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
please feed back on this one. it looks as if they are repositioning the basics range at a new and probably higher price point. it would be no surprise to see it reappear called; sainsbury choice or premium value or other nonsensical branding.
the really cheap stuff is only fit for the bin. advice would be to use the boots basic handwash, keep the bottle and refill with the boots bath creme of the same colour - it is essentially identical product in my opinion and you end up with good quality hand wash for a really cheap price.
give it a try its worth it.
Keep trying.........................what else is there to do?

Nobody at my local store was able to help. I wanted to know if it was widespread before I contacted head office.
There is the possibility that my local area depot has overstocked on named brand goods and wants to force people to buy them.0 -
I noticed this last week when I went to buy Sainburys Wholewheat (there version of Wheatabix!). What I surprise that I found that NONE of the cereals they had were Sainsburys own...... I wonder why! - It couldn't be that they can mark these items up much much more than there own - surely Sainsburys wouldn't do a thing like that to their LOYAL (or is that STUPID) customers. This actually made me furious as I passed Tescos local to get there for the Sainsburys own brand. NO MORE!What goes around comes around !! Simple but very true :rotfl:0

It is the principle that annoys me. I've only started using BASICS handwash for when I work in the garden - I wash my hands a lot and its mad to use the good stuff outside. I don't want the 20p economy foam bath but there was NO own brand of the usual type. I don't really want to have to pay out for Original Source because despite being on a deal its still not as good value and I would still be spending more.
I will just pop into Tesco or Asda and check their own brands.0 -
there 13p wash up liquid dissapeared also, tesco got none or asda, wonder why sa didnt know, wonder if there is some dodgy ingredient in it like when boots stopped selling ted baker bitsI like doing it daily :A0

I just reckon that due to the "credit crunch" the cheap lines are being deleted or revamped.0

I don't know about the Boots brand but I once bought Avon handwash (think it was the 'Senses' range?) and the same brand & fragrance shower gel, think it was all on some sort of offer. When we ran out of the handwash I topped the bottle up with the shower gel but found it made my hands really dry. I think perhaps the handwash is a bit kinder to skin as it's used more often?please feed back on this one. it looks as if they are repositioning the basics range at a new and probably higher price point. it would be no surprise to see it reappear called; sainsbury choice or premium value or other nonsensical branding.

Tesco today no basic hand wash and no space for it on the shelf did have some tesco standard but only 1 variety sure they used to do about 4. How mysterious I am going to keep an eye on this it's wierd cause they must make more money on their own stuff as they get the profit as manufacturer, and retailer.
