Don't shout at me!!

Er, please don't shout at me, but I need help in knowing which Equifax report I need and also how to get the free trial.

Thing is, although I don;t owe anything other than listed below, I don;t know how many ccs I've got, or who with.

*ducks*

Basically, when I was a rate tart I took loads out, but didn't use them, also didn't cancel them, and they don't write to me any more cos I haven't used them. Don;t send me new cards either.

I assume I need to cancel them as I get low credit limits on new cards because I have all this available credit on those cards, which frankly are somewhere in the house but who knows where??

They're all expired and years old.

So which report do I need to get a list? And how do I get it for free?

Thanks

  • Why not go for a experian one that you can get under their 30 day trial one. At least that way you have a starting point.

    Don't you keep your statements?

Not from four or more years ago I don't. Only keep one past and the current year on all paperwork.

Will try Experian - think that might have been who I meant in the first place!

I've just got the free trial from the homepage, and there don;t seem to be enough on there - do they sometimes cancel accounts if you don;t use them for a certain period of time?

Also, they don't say which storecard or cc, just GE Capital, HFC bank and Ikano Financial Services (who they?). How do I find out which cards I have so I can cancelt hem, or do I just ring those people up and they'll tell me?

    Thanks

  • When I sent off for the £2 paper version from experian they sent me a sheet with contact addresses & phone numbers for all the accounts. I'm surprised if that's not available with their all-singing all-dancing version.

    Anyway:
    Ikano financial services limited. - 0115 955 1610
Look like a storecard provider - you can find out which cards they have here:
    http://www.ikano.net/portfolio.htm

    Edited to add:
Whoever these Ikano people are they're now going to be an object lesson in my next web-design lecture on monday. Subject: I don't care how pretty it is if it takes 15mins to load the page!
Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!

I expect I am being a dunce! Am just going to call them all I think, plus dig around at home to find the damn cards! I know I kept them all.

I don't have credit with any of the places listed on their site! Confused.

Gonna get on the dog tomorrow and sort it all out.

I've played around with the sample reports online, but to be honest they didn't look very user friendly to me.

I sent for my £2 statutory reports which gave me all the information I needed to know.

Another poster has given you a link to Experian. Here's the link to the Equifax £2 report...

    https://www.econsumer.equifax.co.uk/consumer/uk/sitepage.ehtml?forward=gb_elearning_credit14

You can order online, pay by debit card and the report only takes 4 days to arrive.
