Hi there, After a long time at a company I feel it is time to move on. The company is privately owned, and as a longer term employee I was given some share options a number of years ago. These have vested, and exercise price is around £1. Latest valuation for company based on fund raising puts current price around…

SIPP over 100k
My partner has a SIPP with AJ Bell which is now over 100k. It just occurred to me that only a certain amount of this is covered if they should go bankrupt. Would it be possible to move some of this money to another SIPP provider to ensure all of the money is covered in the event of a problem with AJ Bell. Thanks

ETF's and their fees
Hello I have a quick question: I'm looking at the Vanguard 80% Equity Fund and am beginning to understand the underlying allocation of the Vanguard Funds within. The 3 ETF's in there are what have me confused. ETF's can be bought and sold like shares so therefore do they incur trading charges? How often do Vanguard buy and…

What to do with lump sum
Hi all, I am a novice and have tried to work out what I should do with my 30k lump sum that I have received. It has been sitting in a Lloyds current account for over a year and I feel I need to do something with it. The savings accounts don't seem to make much sense as there are very low max payment amount restrictions.…

Monthly Interest Savings Account paid to external account?
Any recommendations for an Instant/Easy Access Savings account that pays monthly interest to an external (nominated) account? I have a Charter Savings Bank EA that pays 1.39% to an external current account, but is there any better without maybe going to a fixed term account? I miss the ability to set up standing orders…

Children's Saver Account vs HL Junior ISA
Evening All ! Firstly, please forgive me if this topic has been covered before, or if my question seems a bit 'obvious' ! I would welcome your opinions on the following subject, and I will try to be as brief as possible - When my Grandson was born just over 5 years ago, I opened a Kids Regular Saver Account for him,…

HL ISA or Vanguard General?
Hi, I have a small number of shares in an ISA with Hargreaves Lansdown, who I know aren't the cheapest, but they were recommended numerous times for novice investors like me. I'm now considering buying some funds, and I'm currently tempted by Vanguard LifeStrategy. As someone who plans to drip feed approx £100 per month,…

How to sell shares?
My mum has had some shares for years following an old employer being taken over. She's been receiving a modest return on these but is now thinking about selling them. Excess Reported Income: how DIY investor manage it?
Hi, How DIY investors deal with Excess Reported Income "ERI" calculations for tax return for UCITS funds held outside ISA or SIPP? Sold debenham shares, not received money
Good afternoon. Bit of a newbie to share dealing. I purchased a number of shares using AJ Bell a few weeks ago. I sold them the day before they were delisted (at around 13:00) again using AJ Bell, I've been told I won't get the money for a few weeks because the stock was delisted. They confirmed that it was done before…

What is P2P lending good for? (Zola, mostly)
Although I'm a current peer-to-peer lender, via a couple of the mainstream intermediaries (including the venerable Zopa, but that's not the only one), sometimes I find it hard to justify this asset class to myself. I appreciate that I can probably earn attractive interest rates, as long as I'm happy to wait for my…

Fidelity Gripe
Just a moan, and possibly a warning to other Fidelity users. I have had an account with Fidelity for decades, and also with iWeb, YouInvest, HL etc (so I do know my way around..)
