SIPP calculation
Hi everyone I'm hoping to take early retirement within the next year or 2 and for the last few months have been feverishly working out THE NUMBER and checking finances to support it. I have only just discovered the tax benefits of paying into a SIPP, but am struggling to understand how much I can shovel in this tax year…

How to apply the "£35k by age 35" rule when you have a defined benefit pension? And am I doing okay? Lower cost alternative to Interactive Investor for SIPP and ISA ?
My annual fees with Interactive Investor will be increasing from £144 per annum for my ISA and SIPP to £210 per annum from 1st December. This is made up of the £120 fee for the SIPP and the remainder for holding any account with them. If I just moved my ISA away I would still have the full £210 fee to pay, but if I just…

AVC or LISA
Hi Guys, I pay 10% into my pension and my employer matches this. On top of this I also pay £100 AVC. My Question is should I stop paying the AVC and instead pay into a LISA instead because then I'll be able to access it sooner and everything in there will be tax free? Thanks

Switching Funds
I have a Standard Life DC pension that's pretty much 100% in equities. I'm 54 and want to "ring fence" 25% of my funds so that I can take them, tax free, next year. SL do not offer the facility of switching into a cash fund, so what should I be looking at instead? A Government Bond or Corporate Bond fund? I want something…

Defined Benefit Transfer Costs
I am thinking of moving my defined benefits pension to another pension pot. As per the FCA rules, the current pension provider needs to see evidence of financial advice. Most IFA's I speak to combine the advice and the transfer cost together. There is nothing on the FCA website about transfers being mandatory IFA task. I…

Pension Annual Allowance Calculator
Anyone had problems with this: https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/paac It seems like it gives wrong information. Or maybe I'm missing something.
