Buying commercial property inside a SIPP
I am considering buying a small unit on an industrial estate and leasing it to a tenant I already have lined up. Purchase price in the order of £40K plus VAT. I am wondering about making the purchase within a SIPP. Does anyone have any experience of using SIPP providers for holding commercial property of this sort of value?

State Pension Forecast
Apologies for asking a question already posed by many posters on this board, but after getting a bit cross-eyed trawling through countless threads I haven't really got definitive answers. OH has just turned 62 and has another four years until he reaches SPA. An online pension forecast in April 2014 states his projected SP…

Best (and worst?) SIPP providers for flexible drawdown?
The time for me to crystallise my full DC pension and duck under the LTA is fast approaching. Before I do, I need to investigate which SIPP providers offer user-friendly and cost-effective flexible drawdown, and then coalesce my three pensions into one before crystallising the lot. So... I'm looking for any first-hand…

Comparing fund trading platforms based on functionality
Hello moneysavers, Via my IFA, I've had a wrap with Nucleus for some time now, it's a managed/advised service, so my platform basically gives me no info other than what the current position is and what funds it's comprised of. After researching some funds and wanting to have a play around with some funds myself, I've been…

Opting out of DB pension scheme
I'm currently a member of the LGPS but work in the private sector after being TUPE'd a few years ago. I'm 29 and have been in the scheme for just over 10 years with 6 years final salary at 1/60th and the rest CARE. If I left today it would give an annual pension of about £10k. I can continue to be a member of the scheme…

Early retirement advice - how would those who have done it do it today?
Hi all, I’m a long time lurker, first time poster, in this section of MSE! Must of started this process in early April when we gave all our financial details and circumstances, but only found out it had been approved last week.
