Tenancy in common with mortgage and died
I know if a property is held as joint tenancy and when one person dies, the mortgage is still payable by the other party. However, does anyone know how the mortgage is treated on death for property held tenancy in common? i.e. does the mortgage liability fall on the surviving person? Thanks.

Mortgage approval
Am told it's a problem for lawyer and mortgage broker that I have no credit card or debt so money laundering check doesn't work and credit check doesn't work, and they are both required for my mortgage application. Any ideas of how to overcome this? How do I offer proof that I am solvent? Seems I may be in danger of being…

Mortage with poor credit
I think I know what the outcome of this thread will be but I'll give it a whirl anyway. Me and my other half have been renting privately for some 15 years now. We're now in a position where we're looking at a mortgage. We're not rich so in a nutshell it's a Help to Buy mortgage for £94,500. My other half has always been…

Have consent to let on first mortgage, can I get another residential mortgage?
Last year we had to relocate due to work. We got a two year consent to let from First Direct our mortgage company and are now in rented accomodation ourselves. Ideally we would like to take out a second mortgage and buy another property. We would then either decide to convert our first mortgage to a buy to let one when the…

Putting Husband on the title - Indemnity Insurance
Hi All, My husband and I have been living together in my flat since Nov 2010 and we got married June last year. My mortgage came up for renewal and we figured that this would be a good time to put his name on the title and move the mortgage into joint names. The solicitors have asked us to pay £139 title indemnity…

My parents would like to help us buy a house by releasing some equity from their house, they are retired and have been mortgage free for many years and their thinking is that they would prefer us to get the benefit of what will eventually be ours anyway now.
