We are looking to remortgage in order to release funds to extend the property. We currently owe 100k and the value of the house is around 155k. We need around 42.5k for the extension and our current provider wont let us borrow more than 80% of value. Any advice in the type of mortgage we need would be much appreciated.

MMR affordability and stress test - one for the pros
Hi The various MMR articles are fairly generic and I find them quite confusing so I have googled to try to find examples that would illustrate how affordability and stress testing would be applied after 26/4/14 but no luck. Mortgages in retirement - what's the broad picture?
I have had an interest only mortgage which I've whittled down to well under half the size it was originally.
