When applying for an HSBC mortgage...
...is it better to do it in branch, online or by phone? Do you get a more personalised service in branch, or do the in branch staff just do the ringing up the mortgage call centre for you? Thanks

Hello everyone, I'm currently 27 and have been renting with my partner for a good few years now (I have never owned a house). Can someone explain this LTV scenario?
Hi all, Please could someone explain this basic mortgage situation for me? I think it comes down to my lack of understanding around loan to value (LTV). Say I owned a £100k house outright. If in the future I wanted to move out of my current house and buy a £200k house, what would I need to do about a new mortgage? 1) Take…

Should we look for a new mortgage deal?
We are currently 4 years into a 10 year fixed rate with First Direct at 5.15%, 30% LTV with an early repayment fee of £1800. There seem to be loads of cheap fixed rates about, 2.64% with HSBC, and think it might be worth swapping. Anyone got any thoughts?? Is it a lot of hassle for marginal gain? Thanks in advance.

Renting a house out while on fixed-rate...
We're nearly a year into a 5 year fixed-rate mortgage with the Nationwide. Good credit record etc. Husband may be offered a really good job which would take us abroad for between 3-8 years. Am I mortgageable?
When I bought my first house back in the early 1990's it needed some work so my then wife and I took out a couple of loans and made the necessary improvements.
