Shared Equity Mortgage Renewal
In March 2008 we got a mortgage on a shared equity property (we bought 50% share) and it was a 100% mortgage. The rate is now coming up for renewal (6.75% - it was the absolute best we could get at the time for the type of mortgage we needed) and I am terrified that with the state of the market at the moment there wont…

BTL tax question
Hi I have a quick question that I can't find the answer to? I have simplified it a bit and haven't included the other tax relief etc If I get a BTL mortgage I can claim tax relief on the mortgage interest payments from the rent. What if I own the property and have no mortgage on it? Would I have to pay tax on all the rent?
