The deposit was raised using a bequest to the chidren and my friend and I…

Cashing in endownment policies
I was wondering if any had any information or experience in cashing in or selling their endownment policies. Are there any companies that offer a fair value and also wondered if the current finacial climate would affect the value of any given policy. I have two fairly low value policies worth around £5 and £10k around 10…

Endowment with Friends Prov
Hi, I'm a bit concerned at the moment since I still have an endowment policy with Friends Prov (started 1994). It is no longer linked to my mortgage but I keep it as savings plan since it is better to run the course than try to cash it in. I have sort advice about claiming compensation but alas, it is too late. My concern…

How does SVR work...
Hi Guys, I'd be grateful if someone could confirm how the standard variable rate works once the fixed rate has elapsed. In March 2007 we started our 2 year fixed deal with Abbey, 5.19% changing to 7.34% svr after the 2 years. At the time the BOE base rate was 5.25%. Just so I understand how this works, when we go onto the…

On the plus side…

No mortgage exit fee for me?
Hi all, Just had my reply from Abbey about my exit fee when my mortgage ran from 2000-2007 with them. Apparently I am not ineligible for a refund because a conversion to a new mortgage product was completed and the terms of the product specified a mortgage repayment fee of £225. Now I am not really sure what to do next as…
