Rates on two ISA's dropping...advice on what to do?
Hi guys I have two ISA's opened last year and the year before. One Halifax with approx £9000 in the other Barclays with around £5000 in but I've had letters saying both interest rates are about to drop from the current 1.5% So is it best to transfer the lot into one new ISA for this year? If so which one do you recommend?…

Cash ISA versus Investment ISA
With interest rates likely to rise, when is it worth putting more into a cash ISA saying paying 4% and compounding annually and less into an investment ISA that may average at around 6% for 10 years without compounding?

Opened 2 cash ISA 's this tax year, its a no no?
Dad had a fixed rate Isa end 4 weeks ago, he opened a variable ISA with the same bank and the fixed term one was transfered in to this. No new money has been added, he then wanted to transfer this Isa to another company and yesterday opened another cash ISA with the other bank ready for them to transfer it. I said he will…

Transfer Cash Out Of S and S ISA
Hello, Just joined the Forums to try to find out the following: Is it possible to transfer cash from dividend payments from my S and S ISA into a cash ISA, ideally with another provider (with whom I have existing cash ISA's). My apologies if I'm posting in the wrong forum or this has been covered elsewhere.

Rules about multiple ISAs
I used to know the "old" ISA rules pretty well but for various reasons haven't been following the most recent changes over the past 3-4 years. Have now been reading what I can but can't quite find answers to my particular circumstances. I have a recurring 'Stocks and Shares ISAs' as a mortgage repayment vehicle. I pay in…

What should I do?
Yesterday I converted my variable rate ISA with the Halifax into a 2 year fixed rate ISA, paying 2%. Also, at present I have NS&I indexed linked bonds (£15000) that I purchased on 14th May 2011, reaching maturity in 2016. Could members please advise me whether they think it might be a good idea to cash in the bonds and…

'Help to Buy ISA' with additonal ISA
Official MSE Insert: You may also find our fully researched Help to Buy ISA guide helpful. Back to the original post... Thanks a lot in advance. 1) If I open a 'Help to buy ISA' in 2016 and contribute for 4 years, am I…

Partial ISA Transfer
I currently have one ISA account which I opened last year, contributed to through the last tax year and have also continued to contribute to in this tax year (perhaps complicating things in hindsight). I would now like to open a separate ISA (for longer term, less easy access) with part of the amount saved into that ISA. I…

Able to open new ISA??
I have a Nationwide ISA that I've been paying into for the past year which has now dropped it's rates. But I kept it open as the potential Help to Buy ISA may be of use to me- and I was awaiting details before I made a decision (And if not I was going to look for a decent deal on another ISA) In the meantime I've put my…

Stocks & Shares ISA Provider for a UK Resident USA Citizen Investor
I've read through the Motley Fool ISA investment guide and Martin Lewis's Money Saving Expert guide to Stocks and Shares ISAs (Find the Cheapest Platform) and felt ready to invest. I started to open an account with Charles Stanley and was told they do not allow accounts for US citizens (tax reasons) and the same thing…

real platform cost of tddirectinvesting
Hi, I wanted to know if someone using tddirectinvesting for an isa (fund-based) account could throw some light at their real platform's fees. In their webpage in the "ongoing cost for holding funds, platform fees" section (I'm a new user and I can't post links) you can read that the 0.3% is Contributes towards the ongoing…

Stocks and Shares ISA question
I have two simple questions which are not easily answered by reading my bank's useless literature or by Googling. I have a stocks and shares ISA for the current tax year, into which I've already put the full cash allowance and bought as many shares as I was able. This ISA also has a growing internal cash balance as a…

Tax free interest
Hi all I read with interest (pun intended) the government's plan not to charge tax on the first £1000 of savings interest. Does anyone know if this will apply, for example, to current accounts paying interest on credit balances? Thanks Mouse
