capped tooth - should this be replaced?
I had an accident in the playground and snapped one of my adult teeth when I was only 8. When I was 10 the dentist put a cap on the tooth (it's one of my incisors right at the very front of the mouth). I'm now 22 and the cap has never been replaced. I'm not sure if this is because it doesn't need replacing or if it's due…

NHS Dental Charge for clean & polish
I have been going to a private dentist for quite a few years but have just changed to an NHS practice. I had a check up last month and was told all was ok but that I should make an appointment with the hygienist for a clean/scale and polish. I was charged £16.20 for the check up, which is correct as per NHS charges. I had…

What age to start beauty regime?
My dd is coming up 11 and as all children has lovely skin. My mum never ever had a beauty regime (no cleansing, toning and mosturising) so consequently at the age of 42 I started to use mosturiser on a daily basis), but feel that it is too little, too late. I have the skin of an woman in her 50s and really don't want my dd…

Letter of complaint (cancelled appointment)
Hi all :) I was due to have a home visit from my CPN this afternoon. When she was 30 minutes late, I called the office, to get an estimated time of arrival. I was informed that she was out sick and 'someone probably rang me'. I wasn't told when she'd be back, or if she'd reschedule, although I didn't ask. I did leave a…

HC2 - How much help towards glasses?
I have a HC2 certificate which says I am entitled to "free NHS sight tests" and "the full value of a voucher towards the cost of glasses and contact lenses". I'm going to book an eye test as I get eye strain when reading or using the computer, and I'm pretty sure I will need reading glasses (I was told I needed them after…

Colour hair at home
I have used different brands of hair colour over the years and been quite happy with the effect, not had any problems. My favourite has been L'Oreal Couleur Experte. Recently i decided that I would go to the hairdressers and have the colour done instead. They used Koleston. I have run out of my own stock of L'Oreal and as…
