Gutted because his advice was to try and re establish some working credit by applying for a credit card to use and pay off on time thus pushing up my score over a period of time... I…

Dodgy looking debt collection agency contacting me.
Hello all, I hope this is in the right place as I don't usually post on this part of the forum. About 3 months ago I was contacted by a company called (and I can't remember the exact name) something like total debt solutions. After googling the name, a lot of results, including some from MSE came up saying that they…

Lloyds tsb/Halifax panicking :(
Hi everyone. I am at the start of setting up a DMP with CCCS. Have opened a new account (Basic) and starting to sort out dd's. I was feeling quite optimistic about taking steps to sort out our debts. Statute Barred .... or not ?
Hi I have used one of the letter templates from this site as I have recently been advised that I have a debt hanging over me, and I had reason to believe this was not correct. A bit of background to it ..... I purchased some TV equipment back in June 2002, using the stores credit terms, and quite happily paid my monthly…

Thursday 8th March - What small DFW things will you be doing today?!
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

Discrepancy on my credit report
I was wondering if someone with knowledge on the thread title could read this request for an amendment on my credit file I recently sent to Experian, whether there's a chance of a succesful response and if low, what possibly could be my next course of action. The request is genuine, but of course I would imagine Experian…

cca, default and wrong dates on credit files!
Hi, In 2008 I went through the CCA and SAR process in relation to Halifax and Capital One credit cards. To cut a long story short, Capital One relented, wrote off the debt in full and there is no record of it on my credit files. Halifax were a little tougher, they stopped adding interest etc but argued quite a bit and…

Council tax debt - full & final?
Hi all I have had this debt since about 2004. It was originally about £2,500. I paid off £1,500 as a lump sum. Since then I have paid regularly every month and now owe about £500. Does anyone know if councils offer full and final payments? I'm keen to get this out the way and done with. Thanks Jo
