Bump growing - debt & budgeting advice required
With a baby due mid-November I thought I'd better get myself as much financially in-check as possible. Due to being pregnant when starting my job 5 weeks ago (yes, it was a surprise to us too!! ;-) ) I will only get OMP which is approximately £109 per week for 6 months. I currently bring home £1950 per month but £200 is…

Feel like such a loser!
I don't seem to be having he success that others are having with saving and not spending. For the second time since my lightbulb moment earlier this year, I fell off the wagon - I am now £80 overdrawn until payday (end of month) and haven't reached my target of putting money away in the 'wedding fund' account. I am feeling…

offers to creditors
hi, i finally received help from Payplan, and with their help, worked out what i actually owe (see signiture) Payplan said i didn't really need a DMP as two of my debt were CCJ's (water and local authority loan) so instead worked out a list of pro-rata payments. i have now finally finished all the letters, and am just off…

We did expect…

Youve all inspired me! Thank you!
I have been reading through some of the stories on here over the last couple of days and even though i havnt got a great deal of debt i still feel as though its too much. Its mainly the council tax and a loan from my Mother in Law to pay for the deposit on our rented house. We are paying MIL back at £100 a month so should…

New start, again!
I had my lightbulb moment in Dec. Added up my debts (came to around 30K). DH had been out of work for around nine months at this point, and we had continued to spend as if we still had two wages coming in. Did a budget, cancelled PPI, looked at snowballing credit cards (so applied for HSBC card 0%) rang sky to reduce…

The Chill-out Zone!
Was wondering if the BG's will let us have a little place where us DFW's don't necessarily have to talk about becoming debt free but somewhere where we can just waffle on and chill-out! A bit like The Arms but for the DFW's who don't want to venture out from this board! ;) First round is on me! :D

How do you stop yourself feeling bitter when cutting back?
To cut a long story short we have got ourselves into about £10k of debt over the past 2 years, mainly from too many nights out, too many expensive gadgets and relying too much on credit cards to bail us out. We do have enough money to live on, but about 2 months ago we decided to cut out on the 3 visits a week to the pub…

What more can I do?
Hi, this is my first post here. :) We started working on our debt problems at the begining of the year (using the advice on this site) We had about 35k in debts, now we are down to about 29k. We moved all our credit cards onto 0% cards, and hopefully one of them will be paid off by the time the 0% offer ends. I'm planning…
