Gifts to avoid Inheritance Tax
I have heard that parents can gift £3K per year without worrying about inheritance tax. Is this correct? Got two elderly parents with money in the bank and we are looking at how to reduce any exposure to tax. I've heard about a 7 year rule but not sure if that applies to the £3K gifting per year? Thanks, Jon

Site-based Employee - Mileage Claims
Hi all, Hope all is well. I've got a friend who works in the construction industry. He is an employee and works at multiple construction sites throughout the year. Am I correct in thinking that as he does not have a permanent place of work - all his mileage to and from the site would be allowable for tax purposes and he…

Salary sacrifice scheme
HI, I currently have a car on an NHS salary sacrifice scheme. This is the third of 3 cars that I have had over the past 7 years. When I had my first 2 cars (the term on each was 3 years) I mistakenly thought that my income placed me in the 40% tax bracket, so when I ordered the cars, that is what I put on the online form.…

Use of Tax Code
My sister received a tax code of 220L for 17/18 against her private pension. However, I worked out that her tax free allowance after deducted her SP is 2207. My understanding is that her pension provider would use 2200 as her tax free allowance to calculate her tax. So would this mean that she is losing £7 on her tax free…

Hi, I hope that I have posted in the correct thread as I couldn't find anywhere else. Professional fees tax relief
My husband is now retired, but under state retirement, age so it's entirely possible that he may take up part-time or consultancy work.
