Spacing out multiple finance product applications
Morning all, this is the first query I've posted to the boards, apologies if it's been asked before but I couldn't see anything on the search. I applied and was accepted for a Virgin Atlantic Amex in the middle of January, I needed a higher limit card to book a holiday and the miles system appealed to me. I've now booked…

Charges for credit card purchases?
When making certain purchases online, some companies charge a credit card fee. Paying for a recent holiday incurred a 2.5% charge - so about 70 pounds on top of the price if you didn't use a debit card. Of course, these additional fees don't apply on all purchases. So is this simple profiteering? And what can I do to avoid…

Do MBNA do repeat 0% purchases deals?
I have an MBNA card that I took out about 9 months ago for 0% on purchases. It has now expired. I attempted to close the card yesterday but was convinced to leave it open in case of repeat deals. Do they ever do repeat deals on purchases? I am not interested in balance transfers as I'm fortunate enough not to have any…

Credit Cards - Don't You Just Wish...
Hi Folks, I can't tell you how many times I've reflected on how I managed to wrack up the amount of debt I have by spending money that isn't mine and having no real intentions on paying it back anytime soon. (Lol!). I wish I'd never even bothered getting my first HSBC credit card at the age of 18. I had the money to do…

Advice Please re Credit Card Dispute
This is a long story I am sorry but I am dealing with it on behalf of my sister-in-law and am desperately trying to get something sorted. This is more a problem with a company providing a service but as the money was taken from a credit card I thought I would post here. Please move if more appropriate elsewhere. Last June…

Switching smile to Co-Op card. Reduce limit first?
Hello all, I have had a smile visa for about 7 years which I've finally paid off. The limit is still £10k (thankfully never got near that). I'd like to get a Co-Op members' credit card. Should I ask smile to reduce the limit on my card before applying for the Co-Op card? Will this make any difference? I recently got a…

Can you transfer a credit card balance between two different people?
My credit rating is okay (only one black mark and it doesn't even show up with Experian, etc.), but I don't really have any *positive* credit either, so I'm not able to get any good credit card deals, it seems. I've had one for awhile, but the interest rate is high. My husband though, has a better established credit rating…

Clarification on Credit Card use for Halifax Clarity and Nationwide gold
Hi, I've managed to get the Halifax Clarity Card and my other half was successful in obtaining a Nationwide Gold card. Obviously we went for these for the overseas benefits.
