One thing after another...
Really worried about my OH. We felt such a relief when he went bankrupt in August. First the car packed up. An N reg worth less than a £1000, the quote for a new head gasket plus other work didn't seem worth it. My husband was gutted. I was just thinking of the positives - that we could get something cheaper to run, but OH…

Will the OR have a problem with this?
Earlier this year - in May when I was still earning good money from my freelance work and paying all my creditors, I paid off two debts of my own and my partners Argos card. It's scary, but I think it's time. I'm so nervous
I'm sat here surrounded by paperwork from people I owe money to (credit cards and unsecured loans) to the tune of £48,000 to about 7 different companies and I can't go on begging these agencies that are harrassing me to accept £1 a month. I am at a loss as to what to do. I contacted a company who said they could help, and…

Mortgages/housing options if bankrupt?
Hi all Currently considering going BR. The main problem is we have about £170K SECURED debt (house worth about £158K) plus £30K unsecured. From reading some of your helpful posts it appears that we may not lose our house if we went BR but we are struggling with the repayments anyway. It is my understanding that we are…

Savings accounts for BR
I've read the sticky at the top of the board but can't find any info about savings accounts. We have current accounts and savings accounts with Barclays who are not one of our creditors. Or those of you that are better at Insolvency literature than me and know where it talks of such things etc. Have got a nightmare of a OR assistant threatening me with a BRU, and not that I mind too much about it (never want credit again ever, and not much else it prevents you from I guess in that it extends the BR…

Renting somewhere new during bankruptcy?
I think I already know the answer to this one, unfortunately, but here goes anyway... OH went bankrupt 3 August and has been told there is a good chance of early discharge. Our tenancy agreement has been periodic since January, but our landlord now wants us to sign a new fixed term AST for either 6 or 12 months starting 7…
