So you want your family to get preferential treatment on the back of your name?
You should not give the company free advertising unless they offer the same discount to all mse'ers.Illegitimi non carborundum.0 -
And there hasn't been any free advertising has there?0

I was at the stand you are talking about when this conversation took place and it didn't quite go the way your sister say's, yes she did bound up to the stand and ask for a discount befor she had even mentioned she was a member, the two people she mentions at the stand and your sister all were laughing about her comment when suddenly your sister announced that she was Martin Lewis's sister, the sales assistant told her that she was always on the site and how great it was, this was backed up by someone else on the stand and they were all laughing (including your sister) who said she would let him know that the sales assistant was a fan then left, i was still at the stand looking through the cd's when your sister came back a couple of minutes later and announced that she had just phoned you and you were going to write a blog about it, perhaps your sister should have told you the exact conversation that was had and the way in which every thing was said, by the way the company had lots of giveaways and were not shy in giving anything away, i wonder if your sister went back and happily took any of the gifts ?0

I don't think there's any need to put spiteful remarks on here. Martin's blogs are supposed to be entertaining. Personally I think if you can use any influence to get a discount, and you've got the guts to ask, why not?0

Didn't realise you had an older sister, thought it was just one younger sister you had. Good on her for asking for a discount, no harm in asking.
Horse's head anyone...;)
I've just looked up the film Kenny on Wikipedia, sounds hilarious. I'll have to rent it before the end of the hols. Thanks for that. Here's a link if anyone's interested.

Hi, it has taken me years since the breaking up of my marriage for me to write this message (apologies if it is in the wrong post as I couldn't find anywhere a button for 'Post a New Post').
Basically, after the cheating, the tears, the arrival of his baby with someone else I feel ok about letting go about both of our wedding rings. He gave me his.
So, after a lot of things under the bridge and a lot of reading here and there on the internet, I popped into a local jewellery shop to ask how much they would pay for the rings. It felt VERY weird. The shop manager said around £50. The rings cost us around £300 at the time.
My question is - what is the most lucrative way of selling a pair of 9ct gold wedding rings?
I don't take pleasure in asking this question, but I think it is important for me to let go of these rings. I don't love and neither hate my ex-husband, but I want to look forward to a happy future.Absolutely desperate to buy my own house/flat. Living in rented bedrooms for the past 9 years is not fun.0
