Aubergine in the slow cooker

Morning
I'm doing chicken thighs in my slow cooker with chestnut mushrooms, red onions, chopped tomatoes and sliced potatoes.
I have half an aubergine left over from another recipe and thought I'd chuck it in.
But I'm not sure if I should fry it off in oil first or add it raw.
I don't want it to turn slimy.
I was thinking of adding it towards the end of cooking (maybe an hour or 2 before the end?) so it didn't cook down too much.
Any advice please?
Thanks

This recipe suggests you can: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/slow-cooker-aubergines
I have thrown marinated aubergines in pasta sauce in the SC before, with great results.0 -

It was almost 4 months ago.
I can't even remember eating it.
I reiterate:
This thread was necroposted by a very silly person.
Please - do not waste your time giving me advice about a recipe from 4 months ago.0 -
I've never heard of necroposting. If someone's impersonating you, didn't you ought to report them to the MSE forum team?0

Necroposting really annoys me on fora, people don't look at the date of the first or latest post and just waste their time trying to help people who've resolved their issue months or even years ago.
I saw one thread necroposted after 10 years and another one that had been dormant for 11 years!
It's just one post.
He's done it to another poster too on just one thread.
If he does it again, I will report it.
For now, he's just looking silly on here and the other thread.0
