New Food Products People May Wish To Check Out

Options
One of my favourite threads here is the good and bad buys from Aldi and Lidl thread.

One problem though is that when you find something interesting from another supermarket (or source), there's no-where obvious to post it. And just one interesting product may be too trivial to create a whole thread on. Who knows if there's a market for a thread such as this, but if there isn't, it'll disappear down the listings with no harm done.

I'll start it off with a recommendation for Sainsbury's Yellow Split Pea & Turmeric Hummous. As everyone will expect: it's very yellow :) But, I think it has a really nice flavour, and you can actually taste the turmeric; it's not just there for colour. Definitely something I will be buying more of. As someone who takes sandwiches to work every day, it's really useful to have things to 'ring in the changes'.

Any other recommendation?

I've just eaten a sandwich :) In my opinion, it works. The bean base for this hummous is more or less 1/2 yellow split pea and 1/2 hummous. I bought a 'butternut squash and cumin' dip (not hummous but sold with the hummous and packaged the same way) at the same time but haven't tried it yet.

I haven't yet done anything that would test this. I would imagine it would.

Tesco cranberry, cashew & raisin crusty loaf - lovely!
Co-op apple & beetroot crusty loaf.
Morrison's fig & walnut (I think) crusty loaf

All from their respective instore bakeries and all are great toasted with pate spread on them.

Sainsbury's taste the Difference seeded loaf - by far the loveliest everyday supermarket bread, again from the instore bakery

Good idea, maybe people could include price and product size to help people decide whether to try a product or not.

It's Date and Walnut loaf in Morrisons and, yes, I agree it's delicious.
