Halifax sending through statements for someone else

Bought my current property in early 2015. Ever since then Halifax have been sending mortgage statements, addressed to the previous owner, to my address.
I've sent back three of these marked return to sender to Halifax, but still they keep sending them.
The latest one shows that there is a small mortgage balance of about £1k outstanding.
I've called them this morning to be told to keep sending the letters back or to go and take time off work to find a Halifax branch to get them to sort it out
Leaving aside the fraud risk and confidentiality risk on this, I am not a mail redirect service for the bank

Are you seeking advice? You don't have a right to stop someone sending mail for a previous occupant. Bin them if you don't want to bother returning to sender.
Given the mortgage balance, have you checked that the Halifax discharged their security over your property?0 -
That would be my concern, that someone else still seems to have a mortgage on your property. Does it list the address that the mortgaged property is at, it might be another property owned by your previous owner. Perhaps forward it to the solicitors that acted for the seller at the time of your purchase and ask them to contact the seller about it?0

Spoke to my solicitor, and he said its not a concern. But annoying and concerning that Halifax treat customer confidentiality so flippantly0

Presumably they are sending correspondence to the last known address of their account holder until their account holder tells them different.
That is quite normal.
Suggest you continue to write "Gone Away - Left No Forwarding Address" on the unopened item and post it back in the mailbox.I am a mortgage broker.
