Giveaway started: 1 November 2016

What's this about?

Suddenly Single, written by financial adviser Jo Read, is aimed at those who have become suddenly single due to divorce or bereavement.

The future may look uncertain following a divorce or bereavement for those who have built a life with someone else, as they struggle to accept and decide what’s next.

The book contains financial and emotional guidance for anyone in this situation.

We have 50 copies of Suddenly Single to give away. It's available to buy from the Suddenly Single website, Filament Publishing or Amazon for £9.99 plus P&P (typically £3.50ish).

What to do

To try for a copy just reply to this (click on 'post reply') and say:

"What's next?"

To do this you need to join the forum. If you haven't already, when you click 'reply' you'll be taken through the process. It's free, of course.

APPEAL: Please ONLY reply to this thread if you will check your private messages next week.

There are 50 books up for grabs and 150 names will be picked. This is because sadly not everyone gets back in touch with us, so doing it this way speeds things up. Be sure to get in touch quickly!

Also, please DON'T email in, as your name won't be counted, or include your contact details in this thread, as, for your own safety, we don't allow personal details on the public forum. Your post may be deleted if this is the case.

This giveaway appears in our weekly email (if you don't already get the email go to www.moneysavingexpert.com/tips) and will close at 4pm on Friday 11 November, so please get your posts in before then.

The giveaway has a strict one entry per household policy and entries can be deemed ineligible without any explanation or notification.

About the book and author

"Would it surprise you to know a third of women live alone by the time they reach retirement age?

Do you know someone who has become suddenly single due to divorce or bereavement?

The future may look uncertain following a divorce or bereavement for those who have built a life with someone else, as they struggle to accept and decide what’s next.

This book meets a growing demand for financial and emotional guidance. It follows a three-stage process: TAKE STOCK, TAKE CHARGE, TAKE OFF.

This book follows the journey of two women, Mary and Gwen. They represent many suddenly singles: intelligent, hardworking women who had flourishing careers. Their careers had taken a back seat so they could raise a family. They'd enjoyed comfortable lifestyles managing their homes, while their husbands had often taken an active role in managing the family finances.

But their worlds changed, and they were forced to re-evaluate everything.

This book is for you if you are suddenly single, looking for greater fulfilment and want to take control of your life.

Author Jo Read is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and suddenly single. She claims she is uniquely qualified to share her approach with others."

How will the winners be chosen?

A total of 150 people will be picked at random (we have a special little computer programme to do it) and a private message will be sent out to each of the winning users requesting their username (case sensitive), full name and address details (there'll be an email to send this information to as we don't want it done via private message).

The FIRST 50 people to get back to us will get a book.

When will I get it?

It will be sent out once all 50 winners have provided their names and addresses, so it may take several weeks between the giveaway's end and the actual receipt.

In order to take part in the prize draw, entrants must have a MoneySavingExpert.com Forum account, which is enabled for posting (those who wish to enter but who do not presently have a MoneySavingExpert.com Forum account can register for one, free of charge, at forums.moneysavingexpert.com/register.php).

    2. Details of how to enter form part of the terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the entrant agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the Promoter is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter reserves the right to modify the Promotion at any time without prior notice.

    3. The prize draw will be run on a designated MoneySavingExpert.com Forum thread (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5521100) (the “Designated Thread”). In order to enter, users will need to be registered to the Forum and post on the Designated Thread as per the instructions detailed in the opening post of the Designated Thread.

    4. The prize draw will open at 4pm(UK-time) on Tuesday 1 November 2016, and will end at 4pm (UK-time) on Friday 11 November 2016 (the “Closing Date”).

    5. The prize is a copy of Suddenly Single published by Filament Publishing (the “Prize”). There are 50 Prizes to give away.

    6. All entrants will be placed into a randomiser, of which 150 will be selected and contacted by the Promoter via the MoneySavingExpert.com Forum’s Private Message facility.

    7. Potential winners will be required to respond to the designated email address set out in the Private Message within seven days of being contacted. The first 50 recipients of the Private Message to contact the email address with their name, Forum username and postal address will be the winners and receive the Prize. If incomplete information is submitted, the Promoter reserves the right to award that Prize to an alternative winner in accordance with these terms and conditions (i.e. to the 51st person to email their details to the designated email address.).

    8. Prizes will be dispatched to winners directly from Filament Publishing. By submitting your details to MoneySavingExpert.com via the designated email address you consent to us passing your information onto Filament Publishing to enable it to deliver the Prize to you. 10. A maximum of one Prize is available per household. The Promoter reserves the right to withhold a Prize or Prizes if, in its fair judgement, it appears that the same person or same household has ‘won’ more than one Prize, and/or to require reasonable proof from the winner(s) in question that they are not the same person and/or do not share a household.

    11. Late, incomplete, corrupt entries, or entries sent through agencies and third parties, will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries. The Promoter in particular cannot accept any responsibility for delayed entries due to device or internet connectivity issues.

    12. These prize draw terms and conditions incorporate our Full Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
