A WINNER ROAST WITH THE MOST!
British Roast Dinner Week kicks off on September 26 and we are searching for the pub that takes the iconic dish to a whole new mouthwatering level. And you know what makes a winning dinner...
Roast dinners are at the heart of our nation - the ultimate meal to bring families together. Whether you prefer classic beef, tender lamb, moist chicken or pork with crackling, the dish is such an institution it even has its own day of the week. It's what Sundays are all about.
And with the iconic roast topping a poll of the perfect pub lunch, it's helping pubs thrive too. To celebrate the mighty meal - and the thousands of places serving it - the Sunday People is teaming up with British Roast Dinner week to find the best pub roast. And we're giving you a chance to win tasty prizes voting for your favourite at https://www.voteforyourlocal.co.uk. Even if it doesn't win, you'll go into the prize draw for a chance to take home £1,000 worth of Tesco Vouchers.
British Roast Dinner Week, sponsored by Colman's, runs from September 26 to October 2, when pubs across the country will put a roast on the menu every day. But what makes a great roast? Is it the perfectly coooked cuts? The crispy-on-the-outside-fluffy-on-the-inside roast potatoes? Or is it the delicious thick gravy that floats your boat?
We need YOUR help to find the best - because you are the experts. And you're very particular.
A survey of 2,000 people by British Roast Dinner Week discovered Britain's ultimate roast consists of three slices of meat, three roast potatoes and two Yorkshires. Gravy should be poured over the whole plate, with carrots and peas the veg of choice. Beef comes out top as the nation's favourite meat, with lamb second and chicken third.
Even if your nominated pub doesn't win, you'll go into a prize draw for a chance to land £1,000 worth of Tesco vouchers. British Roast Dinner Week kicks off on Septembe 26 and the winner will be announced on October 2 with pubs across the country selling a roast every day to celebrate.
