Hope my details submitted correctly! The form wouldn't validate and then it submitted itself when I was trying to alter the 'type' of educator field... I'm using Chrome on Mac OS, if anyone else encounters the same issue. x

    Hi all,

I'm a mum of 2 under 7's so have just signed up for this - wonderful idea.

Lots of free printables and resources for young children all centered around the theme of nursery rhymes. When I registered, I downloaded the freebies straight away - they don't send it to you.

I just tried to post the URL on here, but MSE won't let me :(
Go to the Music Bugs website and click the 'World Nursery Rhyme Week' logo - the page will tell you what it's all about and how to register. Involvement is free.

Promoting and celebrating the importance of nursery rhymes for the under 7′s
Nursery rhymes play an important role in early childhood development by helping children to master key skills such as language and communication as well as social, physical and emotional skills. You might have already guessed that we are passionate about nursery rhymes (and the sillier, the better!). Every day in our classes we see first-hand how children benefit from singing and playing along to the simplest of rhymes. We don’t think they should ever be forgotten or overlooked. That’s why we will once again be inviting you to join us for World Nursery Rhyme Week - the world’s first and only global celebration of nursery rhymes. Let’s dust off some of those long forgotten rhymes and get them back into everyday use. In our homes, our classrooms and nurseries.

    Our ‘Rhyme A Day’ challenge

2014 will see the return of our ‘Rhyme A Day’ challenge. We will pick 5 well-known rhymes and together we’ll sing them, recite them, play them, watch them, colour them in and dance to them. For further details on our Rhyme A Day challenge please see our FAQ section.

    Will you join us?

World Nursery Rhyme Week is open to parents, Early Years settings and anybody who works with children under the age of 7. Registration and resources for the event are provided free of charge. The list below represents the groups and individuals who registered for the 2013 event, so if you see yourself in this list, or even if you don’t, but work with children under 7 years of age, you are most welcome to join our event in 2014. Primary Schools, Parents, Grandparents, Childminders, Nurseries, Preschools, Children’s Centres, Parent and Toddler Groups, Health Visitors, Speech and Language Therapists, Trainee Teachers, Supply Teachers, Advisory Teachers, Play Schemes, After School Clubs, Preparatory Schools, College and University Students, Researchers, Early Years Practitioners, Creches, Breakfast Clubs, Children’s Charities, Nannies. In short, if you have, care for or work with children aged 7 and under then you can register and take part in World Nursery Rhyme Week.

This is great, we did it last year. The freebies are really good and my grandsons loved the colouring books and song downloads.

You can download songs and animated powerpoints/colouring sheets with lyrics/sequencing activities/a quiz/posters etc/certificates/guide to song singing and extra things for Early Years settings, Topic Webs etc.
