    chances are it'll be a fake :o
  • They all originate from china to start with and with various middlemen adding their cut to hype the original price to the rip off price in uk shops. Also it all depends on the quality of the items, I have been very lucky and the items that arrived are very good quality copies and from my initial assessment are safe for my daughter. I ordered these items 2 months ago. :D
  • I guess it depends what kind of quality you're after? A couple of friends are perfectly happy with the rip off ones from China, but I thought the quality was pretty awful to be honest. I ordered a Hans doll from China as couldn't buy one here. I can't really bring myself to give it, as it's fairly grim quality. Maybe some are better than others, who knows, although the pictures are always identical! :D

The Disney store have a skating Elsa and Anna set for £25.00 (+p&p) which is lovely, but keeps selling out online. Stock does keep arriving though, and some in store apparently.

Gosh do you have a full testing lab at home? Have you checked the paint and plastic content to check for banned toxins and chemicals? You cant possibly judge an item to be safe from a visual check- the genuine items are subject to eu legislation.

I would pay £20 extra to know that my children are safe.

PS I have been to China a few times including some "factories" and would only proceed with extreme caution.

I bought an Elsa doll as I was doing a window display and wanted a cheap one (it will be chucked after Christmas). It didn't look too bad in the box, but it actually has no hair at the back when you take it out. The legs are very spindly and would break easily. plus the shoes were illuminous pink and didn't fit. lucky no one will play with this one. please don't buy them for your kiddies from China/Hong Kong/Taiwan. x

If you are looking for Snow Globe ELSA look on A1 toys. In stock and £34.99 post free. I bought this in September from Amazon for Christmas present and it's lovely. Very safe and I know GD will love it.
