Hi
Well I'm look at going in the car and ferry in the next 2 weeks for one of the two
Calais or Rotterdam
This is for a cheap booze hunt and maybe find a job for something ells
Had a good good look online and cant find much in the way of prices from the likes of lidl and aldi
I know you can buy a bottle of wine in lidl in Spain for 1 €
So what are the prices like in Holland and France?
Thanks

If you travel by Eurotunnel, you can get 6 bottles of Blossom Hill for 16 euros. I've not seen that much in France for 1 euro, although I guess its still possible. Lidl and Aldi are German, might be better looking in Germany if that's where you want to shop?0

Hi. I travel to France regularly, and find Eurotunnel expensive. The best deals I have found have been in France are in Aldi. Always good quality & excellent value. They had a wine festival on last week, and so there might be some remnants on shelf still.
My Aldi tips are
Dry white - Muscadet sur Lie approx 2.5Eu
Red - Cotes du Rhones Vielles Vignes 3Eu
Fizz - Samur 4Eu
I wont recommend a rose, not because they aren't good, but French rose is very different to the New World styles and aren't an easy swtich, not to say they aren't nice but you wont find a pink pinot
deals are shown on www.aldi.fr
If in doubt, watch what the locals fill up on
If going to Cite Europe, Carrfour has a good range but again is expensive for New World. Two good value, and good quality options are
Majestic Calais - 5 mins from Eurotunnel, same range as UK but much cheaper & can pre-order to save time
Terre De Boissons in Cite Europe has a huge range and some excellent value eg Cava 3Eu vs 4.80 in Eurotunnel

PS just checked and the Aldi Muscadet is down another 10 cents....

Well I did a trip to Lyon this week; double maned :mad::mad: so no chance to stop
The other driver pointed out to me as we drove past a cash and carry open to the public (cant remember the name)
He said if you ever go hear; go when you are coming from England to France not France to England
As we could see all the immigrant hanging around and looking to hitch a ride in the back of a trailer
So if an illegal immigrant jumps on the back of your lovley english plated trailer hoping for a free ride to the UK
Finds himself 4 1/2 hours down the road in France:T:beer:
The company Im doing a bit of work for do a lot of TNT euro work and use the tunnel not the ferry
As the goods have to be there fastIf you travel by Eurotunnel, you can get 6 bottles of Blossom Hill for 16 euros. I've not seen that much in France for 1 euro, although I guess its still possible. Lidl and Aldi are German, might be better looking in Germany if that's where you want to shop?

They advertise it on their website, so you can order it and pick it up at the Eurotunnel terminal. But I've also seen it in the shop. As others have said, most of the wine is expensive in there, but this isn't if you want something cheap, its £5 a bottle over here.0
