One off settlement offers

Hi
I asked a debt recovery agency how much they would be willing to accept to clear the debt if I paid it off in a lump sum.
They have said 'I confirm we could offer a one off settlement figure of £*** but this figure would only be valid for 21 days and would need to be paid in a one off payment.
Please contact me to advise if you can pay this amount or if an alternative arrangement will have to be made.'
Can I reject this offer and counter something lower?

You can make an offer for any amount at any time.
They'll then decide on whether they are prepared to accept it or not.
I would suggest writing to them usiing a full & final settlement template and making the offer you can afford to pay or are willing to pay.
