THE PRIZE

1. This Prize Draw is open to residents of the UK aged 18 or over, except for employees of Immediate Media, Lonely Planet and G Adventures their families, agencies or anyone else associated with this competition.

2. There will be one overall prize for one winner plus guest. The prize consists of two return economy flights from London to Quito (to the value of £1500, this is sufficient to cover the average fare, however, if the winner elects for more expensive fares they must pay the difference), internal flights between Quito and the Gal!pagos and a fifteen-day Ecuadorian experience encompassing the Galapagos and the Amazon. The tour includes a four-day wildlife-spotting yacht cruise in the Gal!pagos Islands, accompanied by a naturalist and G Adventures CEO, a few days in Quito, a celebrated UNESCO World Heritage site, visiting giant tortoises on the island of San Crist!bal, four days living with an indigenous Kichwa community in the Amazonian rainforest, learning how to use a blowgun and be enthralled by a shamanic ceremony and snorkel and swim the waters of the Gal!pagos with sea turtles and sea lions (snorkelling equipment included).

3. The maximum total prize value is £5500 based on the recommended retail value at the time of printing. The Promoter nor prize provider accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize.

4. The flights and accommodation must be taken in one trip, and both require a minimum 30 days advance booking, departure date must be confirmed within 30 days of the competition close and are subject to availability. The trip is a combination of two tours so availability will be restricted to 2-3 selected dates throughout 2014; and is subject to availability. Flights are to be arranged at the discretion of G Adventures, the carrier is to be selected by G Adventures and may involve indirect routing and blackout periods. The booking must be taken by the 30th November 2014.Failure to complete a booking within this period will result in the forfeit of the prize without alternative. The periods travel can be taken in are dependent upon availability and combinability of G Adventures products SEV07NB ‘Explore Galapagos – Southern and East Islands’ and SEJL ‘Local Living Ecuador – Amazon Jungle’.

5. Prize travel is subject to G Adventures General Conditions of Carriage, available at https://www.gadventures.com/terms-conditions/. The winner and their companion must travel together on prize flights and will not accrue any Frequent Flyer points on the prize travel. An upgrade cannot be purchased on airfares with cash or Frequent Flyer points. The flights and flight times will be chosen by G Adventures only, may require the change of plane en-route and will be from the nearest international gateway only which may not be the nearest airport to the winner.

6. G Adventures makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at the destination.

7. Compliance with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the prize winner and companion not that of the Prize Promoter or Prize Provider

8. The winner and their chosen companion must comply with all relevant customs, security and immigration requirements, including appropriate passport and visa requirements. G Adventures will not be responsible for any passenger’s failure to comply with these requirements.

9. The prize winner and the companion are responsible for holding a passport with at least six months validity. And must organise relevant visas where required.

10. The prize does NOT include any insurance, travel to and from the international gateway chosen by G Adventures, or any travel or other expenses during the trip. Ten breakfasts, seven lunches and eight dinners are included. Additional meals, drinks, tips aboard the G7 yacht, any optional activities and time spent in Quito is at the travellers’ expense. Any out of pocket expenses (such as phone, room service, drinks purchases, gifts, food, meals, suggested tipping in the Galapagos, optional activities and time spent in Quito are not included in the prize.

11. The package is non-transferable and no alternative packages will be offered. Cancellation of a booking will not result in rebooking and is not eligible for G Adventures Lifetime Deposit (TM).

12. There is no cash alternative.

13. The competition prize is subject to availability.

14. G Adventures shall not be responsible for any indirect, special or consequential damages or losses suffered by the entrant or a third party.

15. The winner will be selected at random from all entries. The Promoter’s decision will be final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.

16. Winners will be notified by the prize provider by email within 28 days of the competition closing date.

17. If we can’t contact the winner within a month of the closing date, we may offer the prize to a runner-up, or re-offer the prize in another promotion.

18. You must provide your full name, address and daytime telephone number. We will use your personal details to administer this promotion, and will not publish them or provide them to anyone without your permission.

19. You agree that if you win, we can publish your surname and county in the magazine.

20. A list of winners can be obtained by sending an SAE to Lonely Planet Traveller, Floor 5, Vineyard House, 44 Brook Green, London W6 7BT, within six weeks of the closing date.
