CRF Clean up - Santander Issue

Hi all,
I went bankrupt in April 2008 and have spent the last 2 years (on and off) cleaning up my credit file.
I'm almost there except for Santander.
I had a joint current account with Alliance & Leicester (which belongs to the Santander group).
I included the current account in section 5 of my bankruptcy petition (which had an overdrawn balance of £600).
Myself and my partner separated before my bankruptcy but I know they went bankrupt in June 2008 (2 months after me).
After trying to get Santander to correct the entry (they are showing late payments for the end of 2008 and start of 2009) with the overdrawn balance - I then decided to raise queries with Equifax and Experian.
Equifax have come back to me and said that they contacted Santander and they said it wasn't part of my bankruptcy. I also sent copies of my bankruptcy order and discharge certificate. They told equifax I had to contact them directly.
I've contacted them on 3 occasions in the last 9 days and the latest call they told me (collections and recoveries department) that the information is correct. They said it's likely to be because they haven't received my ex's bankruptcy details.
I'm no longer in contact with the ex - the point of the matter (correct me if I am wrong) is that I did put the account in the bankruptcy petition, all debts that existed up to my bankruptcy should be included and Santander are obliged by law to date anything up to (and not after) my bankruptcy date.
Can someone advise please and how I can correct this.
Many thanks.

Try emailing the formal complaint to ceo@santander.co.uk

Different type of debt, but arguably the same principle applies on reporting accounts that are no longer your legal liability.

Brilliant, will most certainly do that - thank you0

Ombudsman decisions are not binding on any other case, but I would attach this to your email all the same.

saying that the principle on reporting account that you are no longer liable for is the same, and that you will take your case to the FOS if they don't sort it.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

WOW Fermi - what a superstar!
I sent that email off as suggested (It went at 11:01)
I've just had a rather nice gentleman call me from Santander who has advised me that he has looked in to it and they've altered the dates accordingly and my credit file won't show up anything past my BR date.
I can't wait to see my credit files when I get them in a few weeks time!!
Thanks so much for your information. It has worked a treat!0 -

I followed fermi's advice (thanks once again) and I got a response, letter confirming and also a 65 quid cheque as an apology.
However, Ive just checked my call credit file and the damn thing is STILL on there!
email sent once again.0 -
hi sacha1dog - that's not good - when did you get the letter and when did you last check your credit files ?0
-
Hi,
I received the letter just before Christmas.
I checked at that time, and it had indeed been removed.
I checked two days a go and saw that it was back on there.0
