Same here as OP in the North East.
From Thursday next week, Lidl are having a 99p event. Some of the 99p things are better bargains than others.
250g rindless back bacon
150g lightly smoked ham
Just a couple of the possible better offers.

I have tried the chicken previously and must admit that I was less than impressed, especially when done in the microwave.0 -
Bought the piri piri chicken, cooked it in the oven. For the money it's not bad really. Would buy again. Also got some lovely beef tomatoes at 99p a kilo.0

I too tried the piri piri chicken for the first time. I was very impressed. There was loads of meat on it which was very tender. The sauce was very mild.
I would definitely buy it again.0 -
The Piri Piri chicken is lovely and is just enough for myself and my daughter so with couscous or noodles a bargain @ £1.34.0
