Moving in with a partner and bankruptcy

Hi Guys,
I am currently living in my partners property whilst he is waiting to sell it. This is giving me the opportunity to save some money towards the £700 bankruptcy fee.
I am hoping that once the property is sold I will be able to move in with him but as the property is his I don't understand how I would go about factoring in for mortgage and household expenses etc.
If this doesn't happen then I will have to try and rent a property in my local area which are currently around £550 just for a 2 bed property.
I split with my ex in Aug 2010 so I really need to get this sorted out now. I have been considering bankruptcy, IVA's and asking for reduced settlements, however the debts are well over £100,000 (All unsecured now as part of this was mortgage/deficit on the house)
Any advice is gratefully received.

You live in your BFs place on your own? Then you are a tenant with the usual rent and household bills to pay.
Worry about moving in with him when that happens. You inform the OR at that point (not before) and tell him of your change of circumstances. You will have new forms etc to fill out then.0 -
There is no formal agreement in place at the moment so I am unsure as to whether that would be accepted. He was charging his previous tenants £495 per month.
Does the OR ask for any information or do they just ''take your word for it?'' I don't want anyone having access to my partners account and he doesn't want large sums going into his account as he doesn't want any further claims in child support as he already pays a fortune to his ex and barely sees his little boy.IVA started August 2017. 53 months to go :mad:0 -
You are living there and the owner does not. You are a tenant and have the rights and responsibilities that go with that; there does not need to be a tenancy agreement in place for you to be a tenant.
You can only claim on your SOA what you are paying. If its £100 in rent, then thats that. If you are paying the going rate of £495 then state that. The OR will see from your accounts where the money is going to and if they cannot trace it then they will not allow it. (ie, you cannot claim you are paying £495 per month in rent and that amount is not paid out of your account). If you are paying cash, the OR will want to see some sort of rent book to prove it. Lots of things in BR are taken on face value (ie, you pay £15 a month hair cuts and dry cleaning) but amounts need to be proved if asked.
As cruel as this is going to sound, you are going BR. Your BFs CSA payments and his account are neither yours nor the ORs problem. The OR will not want to see his bank accounts. BR is yours and yours alone; it has nothing to do with your BF. The OR will have full access to your accounts though so make sure everything is right or you will be the one in trouble.0 -
I am going to open up a new account and monitor it over the next 3 months. I will be applying for BR in September I think. I currently have some payments set up with my creditors. I am currently in the process of moving job too and although it'll be a lower salary it will mean i'm not having to travel over 30 miles a day to work as well though.
I'm just looking through my expected SOA now.IVA started August 2017. 53 months to go :mad:0 -
