Dino Sangiovese RRP almost £10 a bottle??
First Cape Rose RRPP almost £10 a bottle???
Yeah - right!
Am so sick of this adding on to take off that all the big supermarkets are doing with their wine.0 -

Totally agree. I would certainly support MSE doing something about this underhand tactic, which has been going on and attempting to rip customers off for years.0 -
Their half price appears to be about the price they normally sell for!travelover0

couldn't agree more. it's such a marketing con, you've got to be an idiot to think these wines are worth a tenner. they put them up in store at that for a few weeks .. then lo! they are sold at "half price".. the reason i no longer buy wine at tesco is their range is so generic these days and their prices so absurd.
tks however to op for post, it may help others!0 -

I don't think it is just supermarkets and wines, quite a lot of retailers seem to inflate prices when they add a discount. Quite often they are a better price than normal, but perhaps not as great a saving as they are making out.0 -
To be fair on Tesco, they always have offers on wines better then any other shops. I agree that most of the prices are inflated anyway and that offer price represent a more realistic value.0

I find that Asda often undercut Tesco on wine. Aldi have excellent wines at low prices and no need to wait for "special" offers. To be fair on Tesco, they always have offers on wines better then any other shops. For me it has nothing to do with the 'cost' of their wine. It's the fact that they try to make fools out of their customers by trying to tricking us into believing their wine is worth double what they are asking us to pay.0
