Hi
Bit of a problem with provident and could do with some advice.
My parents (mum actually has got in some problems with provident) she is has secured loan on the property and is struggling to pay that off, Provident is 400 per month for her. My dad does not know about the provident and would hit the roof if he found out.
I also have provoident and I am struggling as well, roughly 400 a month also.
How can I get in contact with them and stop them knocking on the door. I want to get this sorted but we cant afford to pay them, and the other bills are far more important.

Securred loan on the house? Who is this with?
Next time the Provi agent knocks on the door, offer them £5.00. They will moan (as they get paid on what they collect) but they wont refuse.
IF they do refuse the payment as k them to write in your book that THEY have refused payment.0 -
The thing is we dont have her come for the money now we post a cheque through her door.
Is the a way of stopping here coming
Sercured loan with CITI..0 -
So she doesn't come and collect, you post cheques through her door? How much is outstanding?
What has the secured loan got to do with it?
EDIT: Just noticed your other post. How many secured loans are there? You say here that there is one with CITI and your other post mentions one with Welcome.
Do you live with your mum? Whose secured loans are they, your mum's or yours?
Its all a bit confusing at the moment.

Ok let me clear this up, sorry about this.
2 SECURED LOANS ON PROPERTY = BOTH MUMS
PROVIDENT = WE BOTH HAVE PROVIDENT
Reason im mentioning them is because she is struggling to pay the secured loans.
The provident = we both have provident finance and we pay our collector by cheque that we post through her door each week..
What I am looking to do is the following...
How to stop the provident agent knocking on the door0 -
If you write to Provident and explain that you are struggling, they may come to an arrangement with you and stop the agent from calling. You need to speak to Head Office though, NOT the agent.
You could write and offer token payments of whatever you can afford (even if its just £1), they may accept this or they may not and may pass the debt onto a Debt Collection Agency. They will probably be easier to deal with and you can come to an arrangement to repay what you can afford.
The agent will soon stop calling once she realises she isn't getting any money.

Is the house jointly owned by your Mum and Dad? If so he must have applied for the secured loan with your Mum, otherwise she's in a lot more trouble than this. You need to check.0

Yes he is fully aware of the secured loans, Its the provident we have problems with. We want to continue the payments to Secured loans but to do this we cant pay provident. We need to stop paying them. But we are asking how we can stop them knocking on the door, so my dad does not find out about them0

Write to the Head Office offering to pay £5 per month or whatever you can afford. They will take over the collection. However, to stop the agent calling is a problem, although they won't call if head office acknowledge the payment. You must either speak to the agent seeing that you know where they live or post a note through their door explaining you're now dealing with head office directly and you're on a repayment plan. You can meet your agent at the regional office.0
